  1. Now this is what I like to see, no big fuss, no pre release hype and endless delays, just a straight up release date. If it gets released with no major issues and the quality is actually good, well, my hat's off to ORBX for this one. Looking forward to seeing how it'll turn out.
  2. It's going to be the first time I'll actively not preorder ED stuff even if the products interest me. First of all, looking at previous releases they were always pushed back, whether intentional or not, this does not make me want to preorder. Secondly, I have a personal suspicion that them being vague about the launch features list and having big features not present on release is a sign that their product might come out very rushed or broken on release. Logistics not being present on release feels like it's going to be added to the long list of unfinished core features DCS desperately needs. The supercarrier, combined arms, mission editor features, ground AI, etc... all things I feel like ED has left to the side because they are not as cool and shinny as the next new aircraft module but that are now waiting years upon years to receive substantial upgrades. Even on some aircraft, I remember the A10C II module (which is great btw) had to wait like one or two years (I can't remember) before it got the new radio in it, they literally released the thing, abandoned it for a while and came back to it here and there to satisfy their contractual obligation. With the Chinook I get the same sinking feeling, they are going to release the thing, give some patches to it, and it's going to take months upon months if not years until they release a big update like logistics. Their stunt between them and RAZBAM in front of all customers doesn't make me want to support either developper. From my point of view, I am just seeing RAZBAM devs saying they are leaving ship (i.e abandoning several 60.- products) and ED acting like nothing is happening. Either way ED is at least partly responsible for this and I won't pay ED if just the next day I learn that I have lost several hundred CHF because all RAZBAM products will stop EA development. So to be clear, everyone, do as you wish with your money, since this is a thread, I am just telling you what I'll do with mine and why.
  3. Very excited, I hope undo/redo and drag select for the ME comes this patch I also hope RAZBAM and ED have came to some sort of agreement they can share with their customers
  4. Would love to see more official ED support for Linux. Even though it seems that you can run DCS on Linux pretty well, little bugs here and there and VR support seem to be some of the issues of this combo. I'm honnestly contemplating dropping Sh*tcrosoft Windows for Linux on my gaming PC but official ED support for Linux would go a long way and I'm sure would be very appreciated by the community. Matter of fact, wasn't it mentioned at your recent performance QA forum thread that once Vulkan was added you'd consider making the game multiplatform ? Yes please
  5. Folks at ED can create industry leading aircraft simulations but adding an undo/redo button (and drag select) is too hard or time consuming for them. WTF I hope it'll at least be added when the dynamic campaign ships.
  6. ED or RAZBAM should get their <profanity> together, I don't care who's fault it is, in the end I paid the price of an AAA game for this module and while I was a satisfied customer when I bought the plane, I'd consider myself ripped off if the updates ended here. I can be empathetic towards the side that is in the right, but all that I see is both sides blaming the other while not taking any responsibility or explaing what is going on, all that in front of the customers, quite unprofessional... P.S: ffs, the F15E is one of my favorite planes irl, it was a dream come true when it released in DCS and I was eagerly awaiting the CTU upgrades RAZBAM promised plus all the stuff still missing in that module.
  7. I believe when you click the pushbutton next to RCD on an MFD, it takes a screenshot of that MFD.
  8. I may be asking too much but undo/redo button and drag select in the mission editor.
  9. You were absolutely right, adding a deadzone fixed it but rather than noisy values being the problem, it was in fact the analog stick that didn't recenter itself exactly which caused the problem. However this still begs the question on why the radar page isn't prone to this slight issue (and no issues either with radar cursor in the f16c) so perhaps something else is happening here on top of the hardware issue. Well, no matter, this has been fixed on my end thanks to you !
  10. Thanks a lot for your reply, your answer makes sense to me. One peculiar thing though is that there was no issue using the TDC in the radar page for example, only in the TGP page it is breaking. I'm going to get back to you once I come back from my holidays in a couple of days, gotta test the ministick and try your fix. Thanks again and have a good day
  11. My setup: My DCS has no mods. I use a thrustmaster t16000m HOTAS set. I bound the TDC UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT to a hat on my thrustmaster stick (non axis commands). I also bound the TDC horizontal/vertical movement to a joystick located in my thrustmaster throttle, this time they are axis commands. The problem as showed in the trackfile :F15TDCbug.trk I pull up the TPOD page, I slew the tpod view using my thrustmaster stick, everything works fine. I now slew using my thrustmaster throttle, everything works fine once again. I go back to slewing with my thrustmaster stick, this time I can't slew following one or both of the axis (DOWN/UP or LEFT/RIGHT) (in the trackfile I couldn't slew LEFT/RIGHT but I could UP/DOWN). notes: Even after doing all of that, the slewing always works fine when using my thrustmaster throttle. This behavior only appears in the TPOD page, the radar pages work fine. This behavior is a bit random, most of the time it breaks one axis (DOWN/UP or LEFT/RIGHT), sometimes it breaks both and sometimes it doesn't break anything or the problem fixes itself. So to condense the problem, it seems that slewing the TDC in the TPOD page by using the axis commands will break the slewing when using the non axis commands.
  12. Is this a request ? Unless it was present in the real aircraft and there's documentation to prove it, there's no reason for it to be added to the sim (the keyword is simulator after all, DCS should reflect reality even if some liberties are taken at times).
  13. I think you should just fly low and pop up at the last moment, then drop your bombs (on the search radar). The sa 2 is easy to fight as it's minimum engagement range is pretty large if I remember correctly and it doesn't track if you're low.
  14. Have you got the module ? If yes you should have gotten a copy of the book "Be afraid of the dark part 1", looks like a very interesting read and perhaps it'll answer your questions (haven't yet read it but I'm definitely gonna to when I have the time). I skimmed through it and page 112 answers your last question.

    Jamming?

Yeah, a similar thing happens with the heading indicator (on the hud and on the hsi), the value would occasionally jump to the 32bit limit. Happens when I'm taxying after cold starting the jet.
  16. Like No1sonuk said above, caps are a good idea. If you want another potential alternative, reducing the polling frequency of the switch (in software or physically if there is a clock somewhere) is a crude but simple fix in my experience. Perhaps you could check if there is a way to change the polling frequency of the usb device in your OS.
  17. Fair enough, there's definitely times when discussions aren't very cordial in these forums. But nevertheless, these discussions have the right to exist, I believe you were hinting at the deletion or the locking down of this thread to which I do not think it is a good idea. Not being always cordial is what makes discussions like that more "human" if you catch my drift. It'll be boring if each thread derailing the slightest bit or being the least bit unpolite were immediately shut down, especially since it doesn't hurt anyone, just gets slightly annoying at times but what can you do, it's free speech. I think I've spoken enough, to be perfectly honest, I'm just here for the show
  18. Why don't you wanna let people speak freely ? If you don't like it you can ignore, it's not like this thread is spamming your forum feed or hurting anyone.
  19. On that note, it seems it started working again on my end, I can now play the modules
  20. Just let the people say what they want, it'll perhaps force ED to up their quality control if more people complain, who even knows. In any case you're complaining too, so...
  21. Absolutely agreed ! Having real nukes in DCS would be ideal but training nukes would definitely be a good enough substitute for the time being.
  22. I am personally more biased towards the French Jaguar A as it had a more interesting operational history in my eyes but regardless, any Jaguar would be the bomb.
  23. Nah, I don't think there is to worry about the silence, some months there are videos basically every week and other times, there aren't any videos for months. I'd say what is more worrying (relatively speaking) is that there aren't any updates that wags can make videos on, but even that isn't the first time for DCS, perhaps they are just working on bigger updates that take more time so it isn't possible for wags to make videos on them yet.
