AGM-65E button mapping?

Watching the tutorial on youtube by ED and I can see what I have to do, but I don't have the functions mapped. The tutorials don't seem to specify where I can find each exact function I need for the task in the button mapping menu.

 

 

 

So what functions in the menu do I need to map and what sub category can I find each in?

 

 

Also, when I select the AGM-65 I don't see the seeker/tracking screen turn on. If I recall it needs to warm up before it starts displaying what the missile seeker is tracking right?

The Laser Maverick does not need a warm-up time, as it has no on-board imaging seeker that requires cooling (laser detector only). The MAV page can be pulled up from the TAC menu on one of the DDIs, or by pressing the OSB for the weapon on the STORES page after it has been already selected.

 

As far as bindings, pretty much the only thing you need for the Laser Maverick is the Cage/Uncage button on the throttle.

Everything you need to bind is found in the hotas category. Weapon release and uncage would be the big ones.

Also the throttle outboard switch (HARM Sequence/FLIR FOV/Raid) changes the FOV on the 65F when the TDC is assigned to the Maverick display.

Looks like I have everything down except for how to slew the AGM-65. I have the right screen selected due to the Diamond being there.

 

 

 

Throttle Designator Controller - I use this for the AIM-120. When the left screen is selected (DDI?) shouldn't this work for the AGM-65 as well?

 

 

View the attached images to see what I am referring to. AGM-65F seems to be uncaged.

You have to hold down "TDC Depress" while slewing your seeker (that counts on AGM-65F Maverick, AGM-62 Walleye and AGM-84E SLAM for example). You can change this behaviour by disabling the "Realistic TDC slew" in the F/A-18C's special options settings. Edited July 23, 2020 by AstonMartinDBS

Thanks all, have the AGM-65F and AGM-88 in TOO mode down. Will probably look into the AGM-84D next. Is that missile fully feature complete as of now?

Nope, R/BL works and has been working for some time. With designation from AG radar, WPDSG, TPOD etc

IIRC, there wasn't an official announcement or tutorial, it just made it into the sim at some point. There were some initial issues that were reported and ED responded that the release was not official yet.

 

Since then, it appears that certain major issues have been fixed, but the Harpoon still needs some work, especially when it comes to High and Medium cruise height, looping etc. It appears that whatever issues are left are not specific to the R/BL mode, however, and the mode itself works.

 

Tip: You cannot select R/BL without an AG designation. You designate with the radar, WPDSG, TPOD etc first and then you can select it. Keep in mind that it needs to be selected for each station individually. Have fun!

R/BL was implemented when the missile was originally, but it was always kind of buggy and useless. With the AG radar it finally works right. So it wasn’t really a new feature that warranted a full video, it was just something that eventually got fixed.
