Dear All,

I'm currently using a Dell G3 15 laptop. GTX1050, upgraded to 16GB RAM, i5-8300. It can run DCS OK, but it's really struggling with large number of units, as well as the Supercarrier and the Channel map.

I thought about upgrading to an MSI GP65 Leopard 10SE, that would also enable me to plug in a Rift S, because of its miniDP.

RTX2060, i7-10750H, and upgrade it to 32GB RAM.

Do you think it would be enough to run DCS in VR? I don't mind if some of my settings are not maxed out.

Thanks in advance for your input.

PS: a desktop PC is not an option as I move a lot.

The processor and Ram you selected should be *plenty*, and that will help with units, but the 2060 will slow you down.

Why does moving a lot take a desktop out of the picture? It’s literally a small box and small tv. Any hotas bulk is the same between a laptop and desktop

Yeah , if at all possible , consider a desktop . If you must have a laptop , get a gpu at least 1 step up from it's equivalent desktop number . Say a 2070 for lowish eye candy . Also , pay cllose attention to cooling . Thermal throttling is a thing with laptops .

You may wish to pm Dudikoff . He seems to be the go-too guy regarding laptops . Bitmaster as well .

I wish I could but from time to time I have to squeeze my life into a suitcaise and board a plane. A desktop PC is really not an option.

So I better stick with my current one for another year, and buy something with a 2070 or 2080 when their price drops?
