Whilst not a hardcore replica, I am nearing completion of my DCS simming set up. Cubesim MFD’s and tek creations ufc arrived this week and I made a basic housing in the workshop.....needs a coat of Matt black. Also a new throttle mount as my monster tech mount won’t work with the new panel.

All seems to be working ok, although I still need to do the cube sim set up and get them running the DCS output.

Nice work there! I see you use a Jetseat on top of a Playseat just like i do. Do you find it comfortable enough without any other pads? I have the older black-and-orange version of the Jetseat that maybe had less padding than the newer one you have.

I too came up with an extender for the center mounted stick so that it could project over the end of the seat, but yours definitely looks more rugged. I then just cut a section out of both the Jetseat and the two pads I have on top of it for the stick to fit.

Thanks guys, now have all the hardware up and running, very pleased. The jet seat is comfortable enough, but I do notice the motors a little....I guess i could rob my wifes yoga mat and cut a small cushion to help with that....... :)

Unfortunately, all the gear does not make me a better flier, but it does help in not having to click on everything with a mouse....I much prefer an actual button....or switch

Looks really nice!

You should definitely place some cushioning over those Jetseat motors. It really helps in comfort. I've actually build mine inside my chair cushion layers, which also make the motor vibrations get spread slightly better

By the way, seeing that FSSB on the side there. Do you have a solution as well for a side stick setup?

Well as you can see, it is on a monstertech mount, which prior to making the console, sat in just the right position if I wanted to fly the Viper. You can see my Cougar throttle on the left hand side on a similar mount, which I just need to swivel round if required.

However, I now need to remake a mounting point on the RH side for the Viper stick. Its likely I will make a similar vertical tower to screw it as I have the F-18 grip.

Pretty pleased with it now, although shortly will be making the desk arrangement more permanent and at this age will tidy everything up somewhat and possibly tilt the seat back a little and raise the monitor.....

What a great looking setup! Looking very tidy indeed.

I made a 2D prototype front panel frame in MDF a lot like yours but shaped for an F16 (more like a block 70 with the centre MFD lol).

I am studying how to attach it to the desk the best and secure way possible, do you mind sharing how you did this with your panel frame? Sitting still it is ok, but when you need to flip switches and push some UFC or in my case ICP buttons the whole thing gets unstable.

Cheers!

Sure, this picture is a bit far away, can post a better one when back at my sim PC this weekend, but essentially made a vertical frame either side of my centre stick mount base that the front panel sits on and is fixed to:

Hope that helps! Biggest issue is cable management, but the way it’s made once you have unplugged each cable, you can slide the whole thing in and out very easily.

I am currently figuring out how to add my Viper throttle and side stick to the set up.....
