Cheaters in LOMAC ???

Ive heared some prity nasty acusations out there. I have heard

 

1. Some people use the 120s Pre-flaming cliffs.

 

2. Some people have a thrust mod.

 

3. I have seen the 360 Hi-G turn close to mach 1.

 

4. Missiles rocket motor Mods.

 

5. Cannon damage Mod.

 

6. Jet Structural damage Mod.

 

7. Chaff and Flare Mod.

 

8. G-tolerance mod.

 

9. Radar gimbal mod.

 

Ect....Ect...

 

Sounds funny but some pilots out there and you know who you are still suck even with these cheats. I also dont mean to sound degrading but LOMAC is unprotected and you can boch alot of goodies.

 

Its also funny seeing "Noob" pilots with "Noob" names flying like "Ace" pilots.

 

I think Black Shark will take care of these issues.

So, is that cos most of us plays on local servers with people we know and trust, or simply don't care, cos we playing just 20 minutes a month on line? In all the posts above there was no real suggestion of how we ID and remove cheaters from public servers. Looks like I'll have to crash back on to killing bots, at least I know for sure they all are cheaters... so I don't make holes in my room walls and spare my keyboard and the mouse to live another day...there is no way I'm breaking my HOTAS , BS is on the way....:huh:

Yes, playing offline is definately the way to go mate.

Let me get this right, because you can't beat one guy on HL, with your vast experience of one month playing you claim he's a cheater on the basis that he can do things you can't such as AVOID IR MISSILES, and being beaten by him or failing to kill him gives you the urge to smash things up.

Its not about calling names online but finding a solution to take care of the phenomenon called "cheating" but having read you guys reactions on this, its like somebody bursted your bubble where everything seemed logic and ok and now you start seeing that your little worlds weren't that harmonius as you would want it to be and you were living a lie for 2 or 3 years............

So this actually about being new in the Lock-on community...........and because of that fact you can not have the experience..............and thats why you mustn't expect support from the "veterans"

 

I personally dont have much experience with "Lock-on online" but i do have alot of experience with "online gaming" but just because its not with Lock-on i have to keep my mouth shut.

 

Nobody is expecting or asking a "witch hunt" but dont tell me their is no solution so we can avoid having this conversation ever again..............its been done in every existing online games...............

 

You guys only see the sunny side of moding and moding is in most of the cases a good thing(new stuctures,planes,skins,.......)but it also leaves the game vulnerable to ppl who have lesser good intentions.

Well, first, I'm not new to the game, been flying with my mates on our server for over two years before I crashed on line. I'm new to online playing with the people I don't know?, Yes, secondly I'm not the only one who believes that there is something wrong about that guy. As there was mentioned before, no one can stop the guy, who knows in game used programming language to write a little script, or create a little mod just for him self. How can you tell that the guy, your opponent haven't got one? Is any program which runs checks on your game? NO? So that means anyone can alter the parameters with in the game and come on line do some magic without being detected... Now, all I asked is for you, who have "much more" experience with the on line flying to help me understand is it me and some other people or is it that guy. Cos I would understand my missiles missed once, OK twice, ah :censored: it three and more times, but 20+, OK, here is one of many situations, three (3) planes against him alone, all missiles launched by three planes hits the "milk", and he just noobs all three planes out of the sky... Just like that... What can I say people, OMG, wow he is natural. But, if he uses something, then you are here promoting cheating, as you failed to check what is what, just popped in (forgive my French) farted your brains out loud, and hided back in the smog... I'm here to look for help, not to read your insults, I'm here to understand of what is going on, if you can't help, then don't, and if you have the urge to type but have nothing of value to write, try winword.

As for using memory hacks, lua scripts etc? You'll never know. There's nothing to check what's being run, and I really doubt anyone wants to bother with something like punkbuster just on the off chance you might catch a guy or two once a year. In my experience such systems have yielded more false positives and false negatives than anything else.

In short, there's no real solution to someone who's clever enough and has the knowledge and will. Satisfied?

 

(PS: I've seen 20+ missiles miss legitimately. You can make it happen in LO when you're on the ball and more easily so when taking advantage of LO's quirks)

I track would do wonders because if you're missing something, it will happen more than 20 times, until you learn why it is happening.

I'm sorry to burst YOUR bubble, but to repeat what's been written and you've failed to read, there exist problems in LOMAC that can cause situations that LOOK like someone might be cheating ... CONSISTENTLY.

There is no way you can tell the difference. It doesn't happen terribly often, but you're more likely to run into this, than a real cheat.

 

Is this clear now? Because I have no idea how to explain it in simpler terms than this.

Where is your track? You are the one that records that. The track will suffice on its own, and a tacview can be made from the track.

Because tacview on the server can potentially cause the server to lag or crash. You can have the admin ask whoever you suspect to send him his tacview and track for review, if available.

Not even. You need tracks ideally from server, and both clients. That's just to determine whose side the problem might be on.

I've flown online since the LO disk droped, and there was a guy flying online acouple years ago who was doing the same things. But the community was able to "discourage" him for a time.

 

Could you elaborate on the 3v1 so we could all get a better understanding of what happened ?
