monotwix Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 Here is a few shots of this model I’ve been working on, it‘s not exactly the killer model unless it lands on top of you and says: Oh, I beg you pardon; It’s just for the reason I don’t feel like explaining. I would appreciate any ones suggestion to help me decide to resolve the operation of this arrowed flap. In the airliners.net photo links just below, it looks like it’s flat when retracted and bowed when extended, I looked into FSX 747-400 and it’s sort of not exactly 747-100 as if it has any thing to do with flaps, it’s more as if these flaps made out of rubber and I did look at the wing‘s underside curvature. So far it’s been like modelling 747 is not what I have expected and it’s turned into a bit of a task, I like to model a little and this one might not get finished at all. this"] and this"] Thx. SuperKungFu Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 that's very cool man, keep going. It would make for some interesting movies. Like Air force One [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
mvsgas Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 I think this is what you where asking about, if I miss understood, sorry. You can see on this video how they work. IIRC they work the same on 747 but I'm not 100% sure. Keep in mind the video is of a 707 You can see them extend on this one 6 sec into the video To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
monotwix Posted April 26, 2008 Author Posted April 26, 2008 Thanks for the links mvsgas. I have to make a conclusion for this, it might be that the flaps were made out of rubber or a magician was installed inside the wing, either one will have to do I think. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
Vekkinho Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 I'd like to have AF1 in LOFC so I can flip a bird from my Fulcrum! Keep it up! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

crazyeddie Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 British Airways - We can store all your baggage when you go on holiday, It'll be right here at Heathrow Terminal 5 when you get back................... Nice 747 - would like to see that in the game.
Rhen Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 There's 2 types of leading edge flaps on the 74. The outboard sections have variable camber leading edge flaps and the inboard sections (between the fuse and engine) have krueger flaps. IIRC there's a total of 10 on each wing. They raise in groups of 4 on the -100 based on the trailing edge flaps. When the TEFs are down 1degree groups 1 & 3 (inboard) actuate. When TEFs are down >=5degrees groups 2&4 (outboard) actuate. In the -400, they're in 2 groups: Inner & outer, with the same actuation. Retraction is just the opposite.
monotwix Posted April 27, 2008 Author Posted April 27, 2008 Your info is much appreciated Rhen, thanks very much. I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
HungaroJET Posted April 27, 2008 Posted April 27, 2008 Great ! Let's imagine a special mission: defend the AIR FORCE ONE  Atop the midnight tarmac, a metal beast awaits. To be flown below the radar, to bring the enemy his fate. HAVE A BANDIT DAY ! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "When I'm working on a problem, I never think about beauty. I think only how to solve the problem.
