Sort by column headings in Select Role Screen

When you are looking for a multiplayer server you can click on the column heading to find servers on a particular map, ping response etc.

 

However once you are in a multiplayer server and selecting a role, you cannot click on the column headings there to sort by Unit Type, Airfield etc.

 

I hear this all the time on multiplayer where people are trying to co-ordinate to a particular airfield and then try and find an aircraft that they have access to.

 

The two most obvious are, I want to fly from a particular airfield (near my buddies or near the enemy), or I have a Huey I want to fly, why do I have to scroll from top to bottom just to check where they might be, better to be able to group them together and then see which airfield is closest to where I want to be.

 

This seems like an easy fix.

Idk about “Easy Fix”, but it would be a nice QoL implementation.

At the same time, the multiplayer interface is circa 1997 or something. Haven't played the new Il-2, but Rise of Flight had a really nice system for that. You enter, see the briefing and map, and then click on an airfield to see what you can fly from it.

Although there are ways to create short turn solutions.... the whole client slot system has to be retired. There are better systems which can really bring DCS to standard.

 

That requires time, but the even bigger problem is that a lot of times ED is stubborn to even implement simple fixes.... so you can imagine when we can expect a new system
