Ziptie Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 I will have to try that, but if when firing it only steps through one pylon before going to the next, I don't know why I should expect stepping to the next missile with China Hat Aft Short should step to the next pylon. Can confirm, with 6 mavericks loaded across stations 3 and 9 - CHAS twice will get you to the next station - so it is possible to fire them in a manner to keep the aircraft "balanced." BTW I've now noted the same issue with Mk-82AIR's. Mk-82AIR*3 on stations 5 & 7. Create profile with RIP PRS, 4 weapons, 75 feet apart, CCIP, and it drops 3 form station 5 and 1 from station 7(!!) Can also confirm that RIP PRS is not available for any AG bomb on station 5/7, per the information that I last posted, regarding the potential for released weapons to impact each other - potentially causing damage to the aircraft. Just tested this quickly today with the little free time I had. Frederf Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 In order to balance Maverick in the rare case I take LAU88 I deselect temporarily the station on DSMS I don't want to fire from.
Captain Orso Posted October 29, 2020 Author Posted October 29, 2020 In order to balance Maverick in the rare case I take LAU88 I deselect temporarily the station on DSMS I don't want to fire from. And what if you are running in on a column or grouping of armor and want to fire more than one Maverick per pass? I can say for myself, before I start fumbling around with blocking one TER over another (god forbid you might not be 100% certain from which TER your will fire in the heat of the battle) I'll fly an unbalanced airframe, if it means I get the extra kill on that attack. You would simply CHAS with Maverick SOI so you don't have to fumble with anything. It is true, that worrying about aircraft 'balance' it the last of the concern when rolling in on an attack run. That being said, with a realistic loadout of only a single maverick on station 3 and a single maverick on station 9 - there really isn't anything to 'worry' about. Two quick rifles and you're off hot - but even at that, on a column, you've either sent your maverick(s) off at the true threat to you (surface to air threat) at a range of 5+ nm. Then roll in on the column with some fun employment of GAU-8 and rockets. Despite what many say, you can destroy more than light armor with the APKS - you just have to send more than one rocket at it. Seems that 4 does the trick quite nicely for me, with a rear aspect shot to get 'em in the soft spots. A10C coloring book. Captain Orso Posted October 31, 2020 Author Posted October 31, 2020 YISSS the APKWSeseses are my second favorite anti-armor weapon. T-72 and below are nearly 100% certain kill with 4 hits, T-80 with 5 to 6 hits, and you CAN kill a T-90 from a rear aspect with about 6 hits. Setup two firing profiles, RIP PRS, one firing 4 and one 6 rockets and off you go. You have to use this quick-fire method, because most tanks will start to move as soon as one rocket his, and the TGP lags just enough behind the movement for subsequent rockets to miss if they don't hit quick enough. dporter22 Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Alternatively you can use the Missile Reject command (China Hat Aft Short) to cycle to the next missile on the TER until you've rejected all the missiles on that station, at which point it'll automatically move to the next station. No need to do anything on the DSMS. The station number is visible on the MAV page in the top-left corner. How do I get CHAS to reject the missile? When I CHAS it recages.
