icemaker Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 I'm suprised that in the real A-10C the pilot has just a visual warning on an onboard fire. I think it's a major alert which need an imediate action. All other planes have audio warnings on major plane faults, why the A-10 Don't?
Snoopy Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Because that’s how the engineers designed it lol. Don’t think anyone here can tell you exactly why. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website

Ziptie Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 In the previous version of the A10C - there was an audible warning to go along with the engine fire visual indication. Wondering if this is part of the "missing" tones that they have already discussed in previous posts - and whether or not some will return (along with Bitchin' Betty). I'm absolutely ok without them to be fair, as it is impossible to not see the master caution flashing (or even the fire pull handle illuminations). Cheers, Ziptie From what I understand, the audible warning is supposed to just be for the landing gear and nothing else. In the A-10C I Warthog we had, it sounded for everything, which was incorrect. ED corrected it for both the Warthog and Tank Killer when it released last month. Copy that, well sounds like the peace and quiet will remain for me while flying the Hog :pilotfly: Cheers, Ziptie i7 6700 @4ghz, 32GB HyperX Fury ddr4-2133 ram, GTX980, Oculus Rift CV1, 2x1TB SSD drives (one solely for DCS OpenBeta standalone) Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs Airframes: A10C, A10CII, F/A-18C, F-14B, F-16C, UH=1H, FC3. QuiGon Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 lol I know why... A-10C never takes fire... Hah, not really. At least in DCS I had more engine fires (due to battle damage) than I can count! :music_whistling: Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

QuiGon Posted November 6, 2020 Posted November 6, 2020 You fly too low mate ;) That's why I'm flying the A-10 ;) No other aircraft has brought me back to base after an engine fire so often as the A-10 did :) 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
