[REPORTED] - dedicated server dying without any apparent cause

Maybe offtopic but...

I found something very scary... strange :)

I edited one script because i edited mission and remove something that script need to work... so is fixed and must work. But... DCS still loading OLD script from somewhere and i have error as i didn't solve problem already. No reason for error because script is edited but as i said DCS using old script from somewhere... i check path (assert(loadfile...), i remove DO SCRIPT / assert and use DO SCRIPT FILE with edited script and still script calling error that something missing. Actully is CTLD script that searching for some Pickup Zone that not exist in mission and also in script is not defined (so why script looking for something that is not defined?).

I have no idea what happening...

I have a suspicion that repeated edits of missions just make the missions bloat, EVEN if you reduce the actual number of objects and instructions in a mission (which should make them smaller). It's almost as if they keep a memory of all previous edits and are therefore an miz file cannot be used as a template for a new mission. . .

One of my trigger caused problems, not dictionary file:

Sorry for your time @Flappie . I found what caused DZHUBGA FARP ERROR.... i had one trigger (that giving info to chopper pilots about transport blocked or not) and in that trigger was DZHUBGA Farp pickup zone. No more errors and CTLD is loaded correctly. Yeah, CTLD script is offtopic seems now.

 

Seems that dictionary file was not caused problems even is still full of old infos (outdated). Maybe devs can find solution for update on saving mission to reduce mission size.

I am hoping for a patch tomorrow that fixes this ...... if it doesnt that is a major MP ruining bug with 3 failed patches ...

... think that will defo be time to revert the servers back to 3 builds ago when MP actually worked

We moved back to release version already. It's been quite good - we have not had a single crash since moving, more than 4 days ago. If more servers also moved back, the players would move too.

A sensible person might conclude that the problem is with the DCS build and not our missions / scripts causing this crash on the servers

So far....no crash after latest update 2.5.6.57949 Open Beta on 18/11/2020.

If anyone is wondering, same identical mission with script, slmod, moose etc.

In this particular occasion I didn't also opened and saved, so exact the same .miz file that was crashing also after 5 mins on client joining.
