Wile doing some color research tonight I have found one one paint that cannot be reproduced, The Honeywell paint called Mask-10A has no FS equivalents. It was made to color shift with lighting changes. Don't be bummed out its just a paint not a camouflage scheme it has been replaced by FS equivalent paint colors. Here are a few shots with a correct color on it.

CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.

Thanks for the rep to answer your question there are four plates for the new model each is 2048x2048. Some areas on the model have as much as 200% increase in resolution in some areas, and much less increase in others.

The real resolution for a model is not based on what size the plates are 2048 or 4096 but how large of an area is given to a part thats wrapped.

I have attached an example of the deference in mapping in the left nose section to give you an idea of what i mean you will see how much more area the new A-10 models template has. This section of the nose has an increase of about 140%in area. The back ground is 2048x2048.

The total usable square pixel count is still less than the Su25T model's that has 12 different size skin files files that go with it.

The template is looking great Deadman!

Two questions:

1) Will the A-10 parts on your template be in the same position as they are on the skins that were released with the model? I assume they are, and it's probably a stupid question, but just thought I would ask!

2) Will the template be available in .PSD format?

Hi to answer question 1 I am not sure what you mean by parts? I would say no .I have had to completely redraw the template. Nothing has been used( copied ) from the old skins or template from Rockweilder.A good example is on the frist page of this thread you will see how the cockpit was totally rew

Due to the fact that most other skinner use programs that use the PSD format I may try. Usualy when I export from Fireworks to PSD it splits all my layers apart an sticks every thing on one layer a massive pain in the but. I am not sure if you guys can import a PNG file or not. I all so work in vectors graphics, and most other templates are raster graphics so I am not sure how it will export.I have not made any promises on a release I have had the time to work on this but real life may put a stop to it. I started it due to the fact that i could not work with the original that was in PSD format. I personally prefer realistic skins to obtain the level of detail I wanted I had to start from scratch.

Thanks for the answer. What I meant by 'parts' is: eg. the left wing - would it be in the same place on your template as it is on the original template?

PNG seems to be in the list of file types that Photoshop can open. Whether or not it opens the file with the layers intact - I'm not sure.

I see - I understand that real life stuff can get in the way. But if you don't release your template, then we may not get our hands on a template at all?

The outlines of the areas IE the left or right wing is established during the UV unwrap. Where areas of the model are associated to areas on the bitmap this is not changed by the template. The template just defines those areas and you have rivets and lines and decals on different layers so you do have to redraw all the common things ie panel lines rivets decals nose art
