BreaKKer Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 The title is pretty self explanatory. The AI F-4 Phantom in DCS is able to "TWS" launch AIM-7s. BreaKKer CAG and Commanding Officer of: Carrier Air Wing Five // VF-154 Black Knights
Flappie Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) Hi BreaKKer. Are you aware of the Hom on Jam (HoJ) capability of AIM-7? I've learned about it very recently in this forum. If you keep your jammer on at a short distance, the AIM-7 will run straight at you, unannounced, even if the bandit has been destroyed shortly after launch. Edited November 20, 2020 by Flappie ---
BreaKKer Posted November 20, 2020 Author Posted November 20, 2020 I’m aware. I do believe the AIM-7MH is the only sparrow with his capability. Not the AIM-7M BreaKKer CAG and Commanding Officer of: Carrier Air Wing Five // VF-154 Black Knights
Flappie Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 I have no idea. The question was raised by Shadow KT in this recent thread. ---
QuiGon Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 I’m aware. I do believe the AIM-7MH is the only sparrow with his capability. Not the AIM-7M Uhm, no, the M is definitely capable of this as well and I'm pretty sure the same is true for the F. Flappie Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 To be sure, I've just tested an F-4E with AIM-7M missile firing at my Su-25T, and I could hear the missile warning tone. ---
