pieroboy99 Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Hi, i've just finished the whole campaign and it was a real pleasure with very hard moments. +696 targets destroyed ! Anyway, i can't achieve the mission 13, whatever i try; all the buildings are safe, untouched (i did care !) and i said ok to LZ to UZI. They land, unload the 2 groups of troup, they dispatch, then......nothing ! If i RTB i get 50 point and the mission is not a success. I did it 7 times with different approch, no luck at all....any idea ? wingman and n*3 are anchor at different waypoints, as intend.... Please help, thank you for this huge work, and these +40hours of intense fun !
baltic_dragon Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 Hey, I'll have a look. Could you give me some more details? Where exactly is the problem: - Uzi lands, troops get out - troops enter the building - then after few minutes troops should get out and run back to the helos - helos depart At which point is it broken @pieroboy99? pieroboy99 Posted December 4, 2020 Author Posted December 4, 2020 thank you for answering ! it seems that it's broken just after troops dispatch around the building: half of them disappear, then.....nothing ! I wait more than 20 mn ..... Any idea ?
Razor18 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 While you were waiting, did you hear any radio messages relaying what happens inside the building? Takes them pretty long time inside to clear and extract. Just a tought...
pieroboy99 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 I've just tried once more: this time, the helos landed, the troops dispatch but did'nt enter the building, staying outside. I fast fwd time x 15, and 45 mn later the helos eventually collide themselves, then UZI declare they Abort; Mission was claimed failed and to RTB. I was bingo fuel, and landed with 20Lbs of fuel !
Razor18 Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 I had the exactly same problem, but after reporting it, BD fixed it months ago, and I could progress no problem. When did you try it the last time unsuccessfully?
pieroboy99 Posted December 5, 2020 Author Posted December 5, 2020 hi ! I tried few hours ago in campaign mode, playing the A10CII Enemy within 3.0 last one.
Razor18 Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 And? Did it went well, or what's your message?
pieroboy99 Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 ............sorry: the issue was exactly rhe same. UZI land, troups deployed but did't enter the main building. It was endless. Thanks for you reply though
baltic_dragon Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 (edited) @pieroboy99just one additional question - are you on OB or on Stable? EDIT: probably OB, not sure if TEW 3.0 for II made it to Stable yet. Checking it now. EDIT 2: found & fixed the issue, I'll submit the fix to ED. pieroboy99 Posted December 7, 2020 Author Posted December 7, 2020 Thanks a lot ! Glad to see you fixed it ! Will wait for the next DCS OPen Beta patch. Cheers !
MarcT-NL Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 (edited) Well, UZI still seems buggy... as well as my wingmen. As soon as I tell them to attack, my wingmen, in blind panic, crash themselves into a mountain. Right. They're gone. So on my own I kill every single enemy (I loaded up with some extra weapons before takeoff). The rescue-choppers fly in without any trouble, but at the LZ they land almost on top of each other and as they take off again, they hit each other and crash. Right. Gone too. Mission failed apparently... I understand that you didn't program the AI, but I would suggest making missions that don't rely on it. All in all not a bad campaign. Good voice-actors I think. Nice story. But in VR I couldn't do it without labels on. Just can't find the targets. Maybe I need more practice with the A-10CII. DCS OB, latest version, EnemyWithin 3.0. baltic_dragon Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 If I did missions that didn’t rely on AI at all I might as well quit making missions alltogether, they would be extremely boring.. I’ll try to space Uzi taking off in time, may help. Also I’ll see if I can swap stock wingmen with separate flights and make them more useful. Sorry about your trouble, all of the issues you describe are not really linked with the campaign but with the DCS itself - and if they are annoying for you imagine how much more they are for me, where I often need to go back to missions that used to work and fix things that are broken without me touching them... in several campaigns. Still, don’t give up, as far as I know the rest works OK. For more information, please visit my website. MarcT-NL Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 Yeah, I can understand. I'll try the mission again. Maybe it was a coincidence. For your information, what exactly happened was this: The 2 Mi-8's landed OK, and unloaded the troops which went inside to look for the hostages. At that time, it looked like one of the choppers was creeping forward. As if they had forgotten to pull the handbrake. At one point the rotors (still spinning) must have touched, because I heard UZI say that they were under fire. It couldn't have been enemies, because I had labels on, so I could see that all enemies were dead. Nevertheless I kept receiving the updates from Overlord while they were inside of the building, so the mission was still goiing. Finaly they came outside and went into their choppers. I saw it all happen on my targetpod. I knew there would be an accident, because at this point the choppers were so close that the rotors were intertwining. So when they took off, I saw UZI-1 get airborne, but UZI-2 started wobbling. His main rotor was hit. They were still trying to get airborn though. After a minute or so this destroyd the chopper, triggering the "UZI-2 is down".
baltic_dragon Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 OK, got it. Yeah, they shouldn’t slide. Maybe I can just make them hover or put something flat there they can land on. I’ll find a solution - but I am pretty sure it won’t happen every time, when fixing this mission again (as infantry was not moving at all..) I tested it several times - and it never happened. Had I seen it I would have come up with something. Thanks for the report, trying to keep my missions up-to-date (on holidays now, though). For more information, please visit my website. MarcT-NL Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 OK, don't worry about it. I flew the mission again. This time with succes, but the AI again made it funny. This time I managed to kill all enemies just in time when UZI arrived. I didn't however destroy the hangar. So what happened is that UZI-1 landed and sent in the rescue-team, while UZI-2 remained in hover at the LZ. The sidedoor-gunner kept firing at the hangar. After a while the hotages got rescued and loaden into UZI-1. UZI-1 took off. RTB. At that point UZI-2 landed at the exact same spot that UZI-1 was in. I got the RTB, and after I had landed safely and the mission was ended, I f2'd to UZI-2, still at PAPA. (and creeping forward by the way). I hope this helps, good luck with the campaign, and enjoy the holiday. 1
jdfocus1985 Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 I really like playing campaign but bugs just keep coming! wasting time and patience. I managed to destroy everything that is red, but when Uzi arrived, they went back and forth around the hangar like building. That building has no red label, but Uzi appear shooting at it. after 20 mins one of them went down. I have all labels turned on and all of the buildings were there untouched. My loadout, 3 GBU12, 2*7 laser rocket and 2 mavericks. Wingman two died without notice, it is just so frustrating.
baltic_dragon Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Hey, I will check it and sorry to hear about the problems. Unfortunately most of them are introduced with the updates and are related to the AI behaviour (as you can imagine the campaign missions were tested very well upon release)… guess that is something we all have to live with in DCS For more information, please visit my website. baltic_dragon Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Thanks @jdfocus1985for this report, I've changed the buildings from red to neutral - so Uzi stopped shooting at them and lands correctly, at least in my trials. Will be added to next OB patch. For more information, please visit my website. If you want to reach me with a bug report, feedback or a question, it is best to do this via my Discord channel.
