Thinder Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 I find it rather anoying to loose all controls whipe playing DCS because I clicked a button and end up with this red text saying "Windows is out of focus". Is there a fix to that? Tips appreciated, thanks in advance. Win 11Pro. Corsair RM1000X PSU. Raven (Elysian Angel) Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 That is a Windows problem, which has nothing to do with DCS itself. Sometimes anti-virus programmes for example give pop-up warnings when definitions have been updated. This can force other applications into the background. That's the reason for "game mode" or " silent modes" within AV programmes. 1 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON

Thinder Posted December 19, 2020 Author Posted December 19, 2020 I havent find a solution in sofware but I managed to minimize the problem by setting my toolbar position to "Top", where I am much less likely to hit a button, if the desktop is clean from opened program it works very well this way, it was most appearent while trying to use the handbreak in the Mirage 2000... BitMaster Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Disable Messaging in Windows 10 to kill the problem at the root. ...and why can you click anything "Windows" while in the Mirage if you are using fullscreen ? That can only mean non-full-screen mode and won't be solved by turning All Messaging to OFF Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X

That can only mean non-full-screen mode and won't be solved by turning All Messaging to OFF I'm using a VR headset, not full screen. Before I start DCS, I make sure all related windows are minimized, Mixed reality Portal, Steam, Steam VR and my notifications are OFF in Windows settings, the problem is that the cursor is still going to work over the O.S desktop, behind the VR layer, and if I click of a lever (like the hand break) or button with any Icon behind it, it will trigger this bug and I'll loose all controls. I'll have to click multiple times in the middle of the creen to try to deselect the App and recover full VR functionality, as I said I managed to mitigate this by setting my taskbar at the top of the creen, but the problem remains, it would happen if I clicked on the taskbar area anyway, like some people would if they tried to use comms with the mouse. Hiding the taskbar doesn't work, it pops up as soon as the mouse curser hover over it, what we need is a function that would disable the mouse cursor in O.S in game mode. Unless it doesn't work with your VR headset, Alt+enter put the mirror (VR layer) in full screen and prevent any possible mouse click outside the simulation. Edited December 20, 2020 by toutenglisse
