Pilotasso Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Amazing footage: http://www.patricksaviation.com/videos/checksixx/3289/ Everybody is talking about a so called crash report with the causes but I never read it. From what I saw in the vid I would say the second B-2 took off too early and entered the disturbance wake of the first, hence the crash. 1 .
Mugatu Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 wow thanks for the link. Did I read somewhere (maybe pprune) it was caused by water logged sensors? any more info?

tflash Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 The "uncommanded 30 degree nose-high pitch-up on takeoff, causing the aircraft to stall and its subsequent crash." can indeed be seen in the video. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Teknetinium Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I would not say it was a engine failure, I would think something whit control systems went to hell, the Pilot pulled up way to much so he dint have the energy to continue the flight, even if it was one engine he would be able to take off whit small angle. As they are telling it. 51st PVO Discord SATAC YouTube

Cosmonaut Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 You can see the huge differences in take off angles which definitely pointed to some kind of systems failure. A pilot might make a small error but the difference is just too great to suggest the pilot in control pulled back too hard. The crew did a great job clearing the runway before ejecting, assuming they had enough control to veer left before leaving the aircraft of course, being that low I don't think I'd have the guts to stick with it.
