dburne Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Glad I saw this, just got my CM3 myself and have it mounted ready to go, but pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get the software to see I have this new throttle. Windows does not even see it yet. Been searching the Virpil site trying to find any info. Ugh. dburne Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Sorry @imacken I just saw your response. I got worked through it ok now, thanks much! The initial problem was it apparently did not like the USB 2 Hub I had it plugged into, Windows did not even see it. I plugged it into my USB 3 Hub and it was recognized by Windows. Stumbled a little at first with the Virpil firmware and software but made it through it ok finally. Working on some button assignments now and hopefully will get some good time in with it tomorrow. Drac Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 I am trying to mute TS3 when pushing Button 26. I have it working for the Warthog throttle. But for some reason, I cannot get it to work with the CM3...photo attached. Any ideas?

What are you guys using the thumb rotary dial on the right side of the throttle handle for? I was trying to set it up as Radar Elevation Up/Down...no joy for now. Edited January 7, 2021 by Drac
imacken Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 On the CM2, I use it for HUD brightness. A little tip, set all rotaries to buffered. Makes a big difference. Roger that. I had already set all the rotaries after looking at a YouTube video. Much better response. Now, I can use the side throttle rotary for elevation up/down.

imacken Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 (edited) It means the rotary presses/clicks are buffered, so if you need a in cockpit rotary dial turned, e.g. HUD brightness, as opposed to a multi position switch, e.g. radar state knob, your presses are held in a buffer and are actioned even though you have stopped turning the rotary. The good thing is it doesn't affect use when you only want one click, i.e. switches rather than rotaries. Try it out for HUD brightness in the Hornet as an example. Pretty much impossible to use in-cockpit rotaries without setting the dials to buffered.
