Shaders mods need to go in your actual DCS.Openbeta game installation folder, NOT your Saved Games\DCS.openbeta folder.

Go into OvGME and create a new profile. Call it "DCS Live" or something like that and point it at your actual DCS.openbata game installation folder. You'll also define a new folder for that profile to store all its mods. Place the shader mod in that folder.

When you open OvGME, select the new profile and you'll just see the shader mod. When you enable it, OvGME will place it in the DCS.openbeta instalation folder structure.

So going forward, you store aircraft, terrains and tech mods in the saved games profile folder, and shader mods (and things like FSR and Reshade) in your new DCS Live profile folder

You just need to be careful when you download a mod to check its folder structure. It'll be obvious which OvGME profile it needs to go in (The shader mod has bazar\shaders structure so obviously goes in the Live DCS profile as that structure only exists in the DCS.openbeta installation folder)

Thanks for the reply.
Directing OvGME to root directory instead of Saved Games, was quite literally the last attempt before your post.  Got it working, but I don't see or feel much of a difference.
I'm gonna play with settings and see what happens.

I was having trouble with micro stutters and seeing clear cockpit text.  I've reset my DCS settings (System and VR) and am slowly increasing them and testing on the Caucasus Free Flight Instant action mission.  I don't have any other mods installed.

I have to admit.  I have no idea what any of these settings really do, but I followed this DCS: Nvidia Control Panel — Debunking the NVCP pretty closely, and it helped some issues I was having.

My specs:

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 16-Core Processor               4.28 GHz

RAM     32gig

GPU Custom water cooled ASUS RTX 2080Ti Turbo
DCS installed on SAMSUNG  970 EVO SSD 1TB - M.2 NVMe

MB ASUS Crosshair VIII Hero

Oculus Rift S

Micro stutters are, in my experience, a result of background task or code that’s running in the context of vr. If the shaders fix micro stuttering, I suspect it’s more masking it.  I have a pretty extensive guide you may get some utility out of (it’s aimed more at wmr/intel/nvidia) but micro stuttering is almost always a machine hygiene issue…

Can you provide a link for your guide?

Thanks for the guide speed-of-heat.  Working through some of that.  Good stuff.
On another note.  Any reason I can't get the console to show in VR?  I get the controls indicator, but no console.  There's no # define MASKSIZE  in the replace _HMD.hlsl.  I've tried the mask setting in the DCS VR Settings, but that has no effect that I can see.

@SGT Coyle what console ? there isn't one with this MOD and never has been ?

MASKSIZE was removed by Kegetys when the VR mask was introduced into the game by ED  (you can still modify it as per:

Great guide, I followed your write and removed the reshade sharper eye.

I wonder why I keep getting errors like below in dcs.log

ERROR   DX11BACKEND: Failed assert `this->wantedShader != nullptr && this->wantedTechnique != render::INVALID_HANDLE` at Projects\render\dx11backend_win8\Source\DX11Renderer.cpp:1183

Thanks, not sure , i have two of them in my log doesnt seem particularly excessive?

I think the log errors are module related, I get thousands of them in ka-50 while none in huey. Anyone can confirm?

I did dcs repair, clear and reinstalled the hotfix shaders.

honestly no idea, i use my clear water variants for all of my testng as its what i use day to day.

The hot fix is the removal of specific files from the mod which were causing the game to crash.  Clearwater also removes specific files which were causing opaque water.

uninstall the mod if using a mod manager, or repair the game if not, then apply just the hotfix file for either Clearwater or the main shaders (not both) do not apply the unhotfix mod files, they will just overwrite the files and cause errors.

note with the latest update the IC pass version seems to work but the clear water does not, the simplex shaders still seems to work
