QuiGon Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 Great read, thanks! 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
Pikey Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 One F-16 pilot told The War Zone “We actually fly DACT with A-10s quite a bit. We call it “Hog Popping” and it’s quite popular! They start their circle of Hogs to cover each others’ six o’clocks in a defensive posture. Then we poke our noses in and try to pick them off. The key is to come in with lots of speed, shoot, and climb back up where the “Hogs” don’t have the energy to point their nose up.” Yes, this reminds me of plenty of Blue Flag engagements, stay high, the A-10C you just annoyed will love you on his scoresheet. Public playing Warthog simmers tend to be quite good at claiming the odd fighter that was too nonchalant, because in the schoolyard, being picked on for being slow, you gotta find other ways to stay even. What you read in that article, is how it works out in the sim. All A-10C pilots need to keep fresh on their BFM. 1 ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

Slow, and easy to get around, but get too close and BAM, jaws of steel clamp on and don't let go! Very True @Pikey Pointy end hurt! Fire burn!! JTF-191 25th Draggins - Hawg Main. Dragon1-1 Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 Very true. Su-25 is in the same boat. You really need to watch it when you pounce on the slowmovers, they can't climb, but they can turn. Not only that, they have no radar, so you won't even know when one is creeping up to you from behind while you're trying to put his buddy in your gunsight. The A-10 turns best right at the speed the F-16 starts falling out of the sky, Su-25 a little higher, but still slow enough to make it a headache. Oh, and if you overshoot, they're both more than happy to shoot your tailpipe off with their 30mm cannons. Oh, and hope you brought Fox 3's, because they've got an absurd number of flares onboard.
Pikey Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1991-02-08-mn-937-story.html Im sure I saw an NTTR video of an A-10C doing a split S down into an F-16 too, but I cant find it. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
