I’m trying to take out an armored tank convoy consisting of T-90s and BTR-80s

Chucks Guide says Master Switch Arm for CBU-87 and CCIP

I do that for CBU-97 and the bombs won’t release til I put the Laser Switch to ARM

What gives?

That doesn't make much sense. They have exactly the same dispenser cannister and fuze AFAIK, the only difference are the submunitions.

That’s what I thought

The B-1 had CBU-87/97

The only difference is what’s inside them

I get C97 CCIP release without laser armed.

/They aren't exactly the same dispenser. CEM are in SUU-64 and SFW in SUU-66 but all from the Tactical Munitions Dispenser family.

Curious if the real F-16 has that limit programmed or simulator only?

yes, both. If you don't meet the right parameters/conditions, the bombs won't release.

I've found the don't like to release if I'm not in a >25 degree dive.

CCIP? Sound like you're not using the mode correctly.

Chucks guide says CCIP for CBUs

I set up so at least I have a 40 deg Dive for CCIP to work

In a steep dive you can actually see the calculated impact point on the HUD. Press the button and the bombs will drop immediately.

If the calculated impact point isn't visible (level flight, shallow dive) it's indicated by a small horizontal line, just above the CCIP pipper.
In that case you have to hold the release button. The HUD will change to CCRP symbology and all you got to do is follow the steering cue and keep the release button pressed.

I’ll try that tonight Release CBUs on less than 25 deg dive

Good news I can stop safely in 7798 ft strip(Kobuleti)
