Hello all.
From 1. january 2021 the EU have decided that everytime you buy anything with your card (visa and "local" versions), you are forced to verify your purchase with a mobilephone.
I asked my bank and they said if the seller does not recieve banktransfer, you are out of luck; No mobilephone = no purchase.
Paypal is not an option for em either, since my paypal account is connected to my visa ie. need mobilephone to complete payment.
For healthreasons i do not own a mobilephone.

Does ED accept banktransfer as a payment solution for modules, or are they card only?

The problem lies with your bank if they require you to have a mobile phone to verify your purchase. If I understand correctly the EU demands two factor authentication, but a mobile phone does not have to be a factor.

Check with your bank or other banks as to what your options are.

In Denmark you are forced to use "nøgleapp" (Key app) or a sms code; ie. a mobilephone is the only way.
There are no other way and i have no other options, except banktransfer, as i wrote.
And this is forced upon us at government/EU level, so its the same for all banks in Denmark, i checked.

Use the phone number of your wife or a close friend that you can visit when making a purchase.

Can't you transfer funds to your PayPal like an ordinary bank transfer? At least I can here in Norway. I usually pay everything through PayPal using my VISA card. Steam asked for two factor once, then it seems it was "Saved". GoG still ask I think.
Gonna transfer some funds privately through PayPal later today. Will see what happens then.
Also, there are other options...

I live by myself, and the mobilephone number is connected to your social security number and visa and in Denmark we have something called Nemid (Easy ID), which is use for banking and any secure logins, which is again locked to the mobilephone number paired with your SSN, visa and bankaccount.

ED does not accept Paypal.
And where i tried using Paypal, it popped up requiring either the Nøgleapp or sms code.

Which other options do you know of?
Hopefully not something with a "businessman in Sudan" or "Rich prince in a unspecified gulf state"?

That's strange, I pay ED with PayPal only. I haven't paid them in any other way. Just checked now. Two options for me, SIX and PayPal. Then I just use my linked VISA or funds I've already transferred through my ordinary Norwegian bank, with the details provided in my PayPal account.

For other options, I meant like get another card that's not a "local" bank like Skrill etc. Heavy leaned towards crypto of course... And I might have led you on 'cause you probably need the two factor to transfer funds there in the first place.
I have no idea why you don't get the option to pay with PayPal in the ED store. Because you reside in Denmark and I in Norway? Well, that's easily solved. Download Tor browser and just manually edit your exit point to Norway. I don't really need the privacy, so I mainly use it to fake my country 'cause I'm to cheap to pay for VPNs.

Cheers!

I just realised that you only get the Paypal option on ED if you cancel the payment, and then choose "Change payment", i did not know that thanks, but for me the Paypal option does not come up at the beginning, it only shows card until i cancel the payment.
And yes, you need a mobilephone (If you live in Denmark) to transfer funds to paypal.

I will never get any kind of account or card in any foreign bank for whatever reason, but thanks for the tip and the help, its appreciated.

I guess i need to reach out to friends and family when the hind comes out.

Yep, that's your only option. They'll have to register and buy the module as a gift specifying your account as a receiver.
