I am experiencing some pretty heavy stutter/pausing while playing. it doesnt seem to matter whether im in flight or on the ground and happens in both multiplayer and single player. although it occurs much more in multiplayer. the only map I have is caucuses. i usually get around 90-120 fps on average but when the game stutters it does down to around 20. when it happens my GPU usage goes from 98% to like 10%. its getting to be a real pain and is immersion breaking. it doesn't seem that settings to anything to make it better or worse.

VRAM is the critical component to watch.  Your card has 8GB of VRAM, and depending on how much is in the Caucasus mission, you can cause your card to start swapping Shared GPU memory with Dedicated GPU memory.  Watch for this in the Task Manager Performance tab.  You do not want your card to use ANY Shared GPU memory.  Things get really choppy when that happens.  Dropping Terrain Tectures to Low and/or deleting the SuperCarrier group should be enough to get your VRAM usage where it needs to be.

Hi @MaverickACE912. Are you flying in VR or with a monitor?

Please attach the following files:

  • C:\Users\username\Saved Games_DCS...\Logs\dcs.log
  • dxdiag log (here's how to get one)

Also, open "cmd" command line tool and launch the following command and paste the result here:

wmic pagefile list /format:list

I also had annoying stuttering even after I upgraded to 32 Gb. I tried to exclude all of DCS related folders from my antivirus (ESET) real time scanner and it seems to reduce alot. Its still there but very little to notice.
