Hello,

I have made a LO-FC (1.12b) multiplayer server with a scenario based on weapons limitation (4*short-range IR + guns only). All the gameplay is based on this limitation, the problem is : Many players edit the default playload settings of the mission (voluntary or by mistake).

I'am looking for a way to prevent that, or do something that prevent usage of some kind of missils. I have heard that some servers (RAF's dedicated for exemple) use a LUA scripting to "kick" users who using some "illegals" weapons.

I'am not afraid about scripting (that is partialy my job), but it is nearly impossible to find any information to do any kind of "event/loadout control" job.

Cordialement,

PS: Sorry for my aproximative english.

You can ask RAF admins for assitance, but so far no ohter server managed to aquire such scripts.

The RAF forum is entierly in russian, can't even found a "contact us" link

Ok, short "answer" from RAF Admin by HyperLobby about "can you help me" : "Nope we cant"... I prefere don't trying guess "why". Consciousness will do his job.

People are cunning so I am not suprised. From one side looks like it is theirs job so why they should share this with others ?.... but from second side it is sad.

Reminder: Fighter pilots make movies. Bomber pilots make... HISTORY! :D | Also to be remembered: FRENCH TANKS HAVE ONE GEAR FORWARD AND FIVE BACKWARD :D

In this case, I think your server must be private. Only for pilots, who respect other men and don't edit the default settings of the mission.

Well it's a long philosophical debate... But here is a wrong place to do that.. (juste notice that we actualy discuss through not-shared software (vbulletin) that use shared software (MySQL) and shared protocols (tcp/ip, bind [in fact, the whole Internet structure]), and maybe, running on a shared O/S (Gnu/linux)... ).

Why share ? just look around you...

I can do a private server, but i don't want...i want my server open for newbies, occasional players, people that want fun (in fact, people like me). Many players change the playload only by mistake (and i can understand that)... A "private server" is extrem, if "private server" is the only way, i just shut down my server, because it's not my goal.

You will not get assistant from them regarding this script. They have been asked before. If there is anything that we at the 104th Phoeinix can do to help develop something like this please dont hesitate to ask. If we come up with anything we will make that script public.

i hope this is in the 1.13 wish list,

forced/locked loadout option for multiplayer missions selected either by the mission builder or prior to the server running the mission.

i started pre selecting the client weapons in the missions i was creating,

but gave up once i realised they could be changed by the client.

good luck with the script.
