zakobi
Have someone an idea of how much DCS:BS will require of the computer? Seems to bee a lot, of what i have seen... Would 6600GT (128 mb) bee enough?
Yellonet
Almost no computer will be able to handle DCS:BS with everything on full. Also the simulation is much more dependant on CPU than on graphics card. Get a good processor and plenty of RAM and that graphics card should do ok. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5

ED Team Laivynas Posted July 31, 2008 ED Team Share Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) 6600 is not acceptable... Recently I was using 7950GT 512MB and switched to 8800GTS 640MB. Now no more problem with graphics part, only CPU limits the FPS. In game settings are NOT high for vis. range, mirrors and water. Even flares became more friendly. Other config. e6600 @ 2.4GHz 4 x 1GB RAM @ 800MHz Onboard sound. It's known that main FPS limiter is CPU. Please, write down full config of Your PC. eurofor
That's good to hear. I've got a 8800GTS 640mb and E6600 2.4ghz in my box. Maybe it's time to overclock the CPU and I shouldn't be too bad off. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Pilotasso
Mines a quad of the same speed, OC'ed to 2.66. Almost nill difference, but you can do more maybe 3.2 wich I guess would be noticieable. Pilotasso
Found out recently that in 22" wide screen gameplay becomes choppier as you zoom out the cockpit. Zoom out cause FPS drop. At least in BS we'll have new rendering distance method - more narrow angle of view, more far You'll see things. Also when flying over towns narrowing view increases FPS. Kuky
Found out recently that in 22" wide screen gameplay becomes choppier as you zoom out the cockpit. That's because if you zoom out your FoV is increased and there are lot more objects needed to be rendered on screen... you can use ingame FPS counter to see number of objects displayed... and if you use mirrors it's even more as not only game shows objects in your FoV but also to your rear :) No longer active in DCS... ED Team Laivynas Posted July 31, 2008 ED Team Share Posted July 31, 2008 Laivynas, what is your average frame rate while flying over regular terrain.. trees, fields and roads? We have built in FPS limiter... In average mission with medium complex landscape FPS is prox. 27-30 (30 - default FPS limit). But in general FPS depend on same things as in LO:FC. Adding more AI wil certainly lower FPS during mass attacks. Best Regards, Dmitry. "Чтобы дойти до цели, надо прежде всего идти." © О. DCS terrain LOD is interesting indeed. :) I only found out this week because last weekend I could not resist to buy a 22" sansung monitor for "only" 220 Euro (5ms 8000:1 contrast). :D Edited July 31, 2008 by Pilotasso [sigpic]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic4448_29.gif[/sigpic] My PC specs below:Case: Corsair 400C PSU: SEASONIC SS-760XP2 760W Platinum CPU: AMD RYZEN 3900X (12C/24T) RAM: 32 GB 4266Mhz (two 2x8 kits) of trident Z RGB @3600Mhz CL 14 CR=1T MOBO: ASUS CROSSHAIR HERO VI AM4 GFX: GTX 1080Ti MSI Gaming X Cooler: NXZT Kraken X62 280mm AIO Storage: Samsung 960 EVO 1TB M.2+6GB WD 6Gb red HOTAS: Thrustmaster Warthog + CH pro pedals Monitor: Gigabyte AORUS AD27QD Freesync HDR400 1440P

ben_der
Quick question: Are Multicores supported by DCS? Think I read something about it, that in Blackshark MCores aren't supported and will be supported with a later patch, won't they?
VMFA117_Poko
Quick answer: Not yet with first module ("Black Shark"). DCS will support multicores later when will come new game engine. I couldn't wait longer and have to buy new rig 'cuz it's the best time now (prices) for "little" shopping. My new specification: Intel Core2Duo E8500 (3,16 GHz) Gigabyte GA-X48-DS5 2 x 2048 MB Geil PC1066 CL5 EVO in Dual Channel 2 x PowerColor Radeon HD4850 in CrossFire 2 x Seagate 250 GB (16 MB cache) in RAID 0 24" wide (16:10) mat LCD Belinea o.display (1920x1200) Everything closed in CoolerMaster Stacker ATX/BTX big tower with additional coolers and... 600W PSU ---> I know Kuky I could do wrong (guy from the shop made me to do so ;), he simply convinsted me) but I have ability to add another 600W PSU later if it won't be enough - this is cheaper solution and if one fails, second still works. I won't loose whole 1200W PSU which is expensive. So far so good. + ofcourse TrackIR4 + TrackClipPro, Saitek X52, Logitech Driving Force Pro (900 degrees wheel) for using its pedals in BS ^^ I hope this will be enough for BlackShark in at least medium/high settings... Will it? Or you can't say 'cuz you're still before optimilazation? Edited August 1, 2008 by Poko24
