Older version of Watch the Devildogs mission?

I remember a while ago the Watch the Devildogs mission was in the "missions" folder and had you starting on a crowded carrier. Now it seems to have moved to Instant Action and starts you in the air. I haven't tried it yet and was hoping to fly the carrier-to-carrier version. Is the older version of the mission still available somewhere?

Yes, you can select it via the missions tab, F14. It will be called Watching the Devildog, there is also a coop version for it. Make sure you hit your fixed point when arriving in the AO, so it starts the trigger chain. 🙂 (I think it was fixed point, iirc, but it says in the briefing). I also recommend to refuel on your way there.

It's not in my Missions list. I dug around in Mods/aircraft/F14/Missions/Single, and it's there as "HB Watching the Develdog" but it's not appearing in my missions tab in the game.

It's been changed to OP. Hightower? What's the Watching the Devildog miz file that's not showing in the list?

The list doesn't show file names - it shows mission names instead, so the file "Watching the Devildog" is listed as "Op. Hightower" since that's what was set as a mission name in this file. Open through Mission Editor to see file names and check yourself.

What the heck? I never called it OP Hightower, and no one else did either. The working title of the mission was "the valley" and that never made it into the sim.

Ooooh, actually, nvm, I did actually name it that, as I started doing it as a showcase for a campaign I wanted to do but then dropped. That's so long ago that I completely forgot about it. I prolly should change that, so it shows as Watching the Devildog.

My apologies. Too bad I never had time to make that minicampaign. Had a couple of other nice missions, I might pick up on them later on again.
