dresoccer4 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 I have the D9 and it's getting up there in age and starting to show. The A8 is much newer, so I'm wondering if the cockpit textures are much better? Or is it simply a copy of the D9? Thanks! Art-J Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Cockpit textures in A8 are not really much better given the complete retexturing D9 got not that long ago with 109 and P-51. I would even say the ones in A8 are on the bland/washed out side, not to mention some minor lighting/shading bugs here and there (for example the permanent violet tint rendered under the sun cover even when cockpit lights are turned off). The overall cockpit 3D geometry and pilot's position in Anton is quite different though (more accurate, allegedly), so I don't think anything was copied form the Dora. The biggest difference in quality and detail of 3D model and textures is on the outside anyway. 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
wowbagger Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Have to agree, there is a bland look to the cockpit textures of the A8. It might just be the shade of grey that was chosen and the way light hits it, but it definitely looks washed-out, smeary to my eyes. no sig
lmp Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 IMHO the Dora has one of the nicer looking cockpits in the game. The Anton on the other hand does look washed out. I'm pretty surprised no one mentioned it earlier.
StevanJ Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 The Dora is my favourite Warbird. As a person who doesnt own the Anton, but has other Warbirds. Id still rather be in the Dora, than the Mustang, 109 or the Spit. Maybe im missing out? I adore the cockpit. 1 1
