skygunner58203 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 I'm unsure how to ask about this issue. I have the most recent Game Ready drivers, as well as the most recent drivers for my system in general. Current specs are as follows: 1600X Asus rog strix b450-f 32 GB ram @ 3200 MHz Nvidia 1080ti HP Reverb G1 v2 (pretty sure, but its used) Windows 20H2, all updates up to date. My headset's display keeps turning off. the audio still works, as does tracking, but its completely black for several seconds, then back for a minute or two, then black again. Some of the blackouts also cause a blackout of my primary monitor as well. Any ideas?
Eaglewings Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Could be power related. How is the G2 plugged into your system? I have a Samsung odyssey plus headset so might be different from the reverb G1.I have experienced the vr headset not powering up when I put the usb cable on certain ports.Check if the usb you plug into meet the power requirements for the headset. Baldrick33 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) I have seen reports of this on other games forums which have been kind of resolved by disabling the headset audio. Far from ideal but a potential work around. I have been having similar problems with a G1, short periods of blue screens on the headset, worst case it restarts WMR which crashes SteamVR and hence DCS. Again I have disabled headset audio and used headphones and been fine so far doing the same test missions. Edited to add there is a firmware update for the G2 which may resolve this https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-reverb-g2-virtual-reality-headset/33835976 Edited March 22, 2021 by Baldrick33 AMD 5800X3D · MSI 4080 · Asus ROG Strix B550 Gaming · HP Reverb Pro · 1Tb M.2 NVMe, 32Gb Corsair Vengence 3600MHz DDR4 · Windows 11 · Thrustmaster TPR Pedals · VIRPIL T-50CM3 Base, Alpha Prime R. Harlikwin Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Yeah, I had this happen with my original V1 or V0 reverb G1 (early adopter I was)... Unfortunately it meant the headset was failing, in my case it started happening in one eye first then both. It might be a cable thing, but what eventually wears out on them is how they are connected directly to the headset. Also, I would try to make sure its getting as much power as possible.
