Laika007 Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 I have been flying F-18 with Thrustmaster stick, rudder peddles and throttle, no problem. Switched to A-10C, none of the three work. What would I need to do to get them working so I can use them in both aircraft? Thanks
MAXsenna Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 And check that you have set them up in SIM mode and not game.Cheers! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
Laika007 Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 That may be the problem. All I have is "Game" and "Real", not SIM. Where would I get SIM? I am using VR. When I went to the DCS site, looked at A10 Tank killer. It shows that it is not compatible with STEAM.
MAXsenna Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 Ah, sorry. In that sense real=sim. Make sure you set the hardware in the real profile and not game.Cheers! Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
Laika007 Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 Ok, thanks. Let me see if I can get it working, I will let you know.
Laika007 Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 MAXsenna, many of the buttons are working on the stick and throttle. The front wheel is locked to the left or right depending if I invert. I am unable to get the rudder peddles to be recognized in control set up.
Laika007 Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 But the rudder left and right brakes work.
MAXsenna Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 Can you post a screenshot of the axis settings for the stick, throttle and the pedals? Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
Leg2ion Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Had similar after I recently introduced some pedals into the mix. Throttle worked - stick didn't - even if I rebooted. Loaded up DCS, and unplugged the stick from the USB port, then plugged it back in. All is now well... 1 AMD Ryzen 5 5600X; ASUS ROG Strix X570-F, Corsair Vengeance 64 GB (2x 32GB) 3600MHz; Seagate FireCuda 510 500GB M.2-2280 (OS); Samsung 860 EVO 2TB M.2-2280 (DCS); MSI GeForce RTX 3090 SUPRIM X 24GB OC GPU. Laika007 Posted March 31, 2021 Author Posted March 31, 2021 Ha, leave it up to the experts. Leg2ion, did what you said, all is good THANKS! 1

Laika007 Posted April 1, 2021 Author Posted April 1, 2021 Have another question. When flying the A10, when stick is centered, the A10 turns slightly left and is on a steady slow climb. I have checked settings, all looks good. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Does not happen when flying F18.
Repth Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 Check your trim. The a-10 requires constant trimming since it is not fly by wire. More than likely your load out is not symmetrical causing the slow turn to the left or your trim is offset to the left. Also make sure your not applying pressure to your left rudder pedal. That can also cause a slight roll.
Laika007 Posted April 2, 2021 Author Posted April 2, 2021 Wow, that A10 is a persnickety beast, ya, trim was the issue. Had to reprogram the trim button because in the “profile” it was not set correctly. thanks again for the help. 2
Laika007 Posted April 4, 2021 Author Posted April 4, 2021 I see that there are many updates to DCS world and also, F18. What would be the best way to get all the updates or, do they “automatically” download through Steam in to DCS?
Leg2ion Posted April 5, 2021 Posted April 5, 2021 I think they are auto downloaded once 'validated' by Steam, but not 100%. Have always kept clear of Steam for DCS as I think the DCS standalone offers better value during its sales etc. Re - your trim - don't forget to also set up/map a trim null/centralise, as an easy way to re-centre it. Another tip is to drop ordnance of opposite wings - mission dependent of course. Try setting up a free flight mission with a couple of tanks as targets - and go out heavy - then use - say - all the mavericks off one station to see how it affects trim.
