when Creason or iron mike open their mouths about the cat WE Listen

I don't see SMEs besides that one implausible anecdote from okie.

Heatblur is Swedish. He's not a tomcat pilot.

Ok bud. We are not Swedish btw. We have exactly 2 swedes working for us currently. 😄 And even if, it would have nothing to do with it. Trust me that a fighter pilot is an SME in regards to these questions, no matter what he flew. If you say Tonka and Tomcat are the same, and a Tonka guy tells you they are not, I'd 100% go with what he says.

And it doesnt matter where we are from. It is not like flight dynamics of a certain aircraft can only be understood by the nationals who built it lol. And if you really wanna know, Creason is American, which again - matters not.

We work together with F-14 pilots, (Victory 205 in this thread is our main SME), RIOs, maintenance crew, etc etc... And the "we" part consists of professionals who studied for this long years, excelled at it and only then came to us. You have wikipedia on your side which you do not understand even fully.

I do not mean to be rude, but we all went out of our way to help you. If you don't want to be helped, that is ok. But then please forgive us, if we devote our time to somewhere else now. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Trust me, you do not want Victory to reply to your statements... You really don't. 😄 Besides, it is doubtful that he will take his precious time to explain these basics to you.

Just, take a step back, and try to learn the fundamentals a bit more first, before jumping to conclusions. We will stop this off topic discussion now, and unfortunately, we will have to take it as trolling, if we keep doing this back and forth and I will delete such comments from you from now on. It is nothing personal, but it would be unfair to everyone else to let this to continue on and on.

If you have a serious question, and if you are willing to listen to the answers, then please feel free to continue posting. But anything off topic we won't allow anymore
- thank you for your kind understanding.

Just on a personal sidenote: I stayed up an hour longer than I wanted to, to help you. Please be so kind and return me the favor, so that I do not have to monitor this thread all night. I would really appreciate it. Thank you! 🙂

Any technical documents would be great, you should just have a repository where all the f 14 docs are stored because those are golden.

Absolutely nothing personal from our side. I wouldnt have stayed up extra, if I wouldn't like you bud. We're just trying to get you to understand. But again, please let us get back on topic of discussing actual F-14 stuff. Thanks!

Holy macaroni and cheeeeeeeese!!!  What happened to this topic?!?!

Listen everyone...I have been "flying" flight sims since the 1980's...yeah, that doesn't amount to much, but if there is one thing I know...it's that Heatblur may be the best in the business...ever.  Let us all be nice to them, respect them, and most importantly...help them.  They have the credentials, the SME's, and REAL Tomcat pilots.

The DCS Tomcat is still a work in progress, but what we currently have speaks volumes to the level of perfection Heatblur is aiming to achieve.

We need to give them a break and just let them work in peace.  We will all benefit in the end.

The F-14 Tomcat and it's pilots, RIOs, maintainers, and engineers/designers are being honored and remembered with such an incredible simulation in DCS.  We virtual aviators and armchair pilots should give tremendous thanks to Heatblur for giving us the opportunity to fly such a legendary aircraft and experience what others did and sacrificed in real life.

If this is to be believed, it sounds like 2.4+ may have been achieved on a development test flight by manipulating the AICS ramps manually. This test article was not reflective of production aircraft. I see at lot of 2.34 numbers being tossed around, again, on internet forums with no hard evidence.

For what it’s worth, the 2.34 number has been around way before the internet. It was in the coffee table books and probably on all the model kits. I had the number committed to memory as a kid in the 80’s.

Now I would definitely be curious if HB was to ever reproduce 2.4 internally with the few necessary hacks, just as further validation that the FM is *so* accurate :D, it will even hit those edges of the envelope that weren’t originally intended, even if a player understandably wasn’t able to do it.

Cat doesn't go much above Mach 2. That ones just easy, we don't need DCS on more steroids than it already is.

Wow. I am astonished. Seriously, I wish I had the patience that Mike, fat and rest of the team and SME have when I deal with my clients 😅

Jokes aside, a discriminating and critical (but not hostile) approach, if supported by sources, knowledge and documentation can be healthy and constructive and can actually help to spot bugs, inconsistencies and other issues. However, a good understanding of the discussed topic is necessary, otherwise it's really not productive.

There's nothing wrong in being ignorant (in the original meaning of the word, not the modern), but when an "expert" corrects the party that lacks knowledge, the latter should shut up and listen, understand, and only then ask for clarifications and discuss.

No offense. But there aren't any experts here. Only civilian video gamers claiming tomcats can pull 13g hypersonic.

No offence but you misunderstood that real pilots claim really high g capability of the tomcat, people here is only reporting what real pilots told.

It might look like you only take your own personal time with that answers (we know you like long teaching posts) but being dev and moderator here is kinda different story and you should know better and react quicker accordingly to trolling imho. That short accusing posts, no real data presented, changing subjects, lack of knowledge and understanding of the matter, unwilling to listen or learn anything, almost look like AI chat bot experiment - all this should turn on the red light. And I as customer am not OK when you or FC take this much time seriously trying to answer to such person when way smarter and real questions or bug reports remain unanswered in other parts of the forum. Please don't feed the trolls.

It is part of the forum rules (https://forums.eagle.ru/guidelines/ 1.5 & 1.10) mind you, @Mistang. Please don't interfere with module development - it is constant WIP, it takes time, so don't take it aways from the devs. Educate yourself, get experience and come back to test changes when they come and you're ready to discuss.

Ok fine I won't disagree with the f-14H (Hollywood variant)

All you have to do is actually cite that. I'll shut up forever you just have to cite your extreme claims.

Also your realize compressor stall causes vibration and inflates G

I don't think Devs and SME will feel offended by your sentence. As you may have noticed, they spent a great deal of time trying to reason and educate you.

If the fact that your account is brand new is not fishy enough, I think it's clear to everyone now that you are not interested in a constructive discussion, even worse, you are just trolling and wasting others' time. Which sucks even more because devs open to discussions are not really common at all.

Added to the ignored list, no offence ofc.
