DCS 2.7 will not start

i updated my DCS this morning to 2.7 but now it will not start i get the small loading window for about 30 seconds and then it just closes i tried restarting my computer and repairing DCS and it still wont start.

Are you using headtracker.dll? That makes 2.7 crash here, without the dll it works but without headtracking obviously. Worked fine on the latest 2.6 version.

i dont use a headtracker so i dont think thats the problem

Guys, please attach the dcs.log file found in your "C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS...\Logs". It may appear as simply "dcs".

Thanks @jchinowsky. Try disabling your mods. Some people reported issues with mods and 2.7.

I have started fresh, uninstall and install the Steam version, and renamed the "saved games/dcs" directory to something else, still not even the splash screen showed up. I am trying the standalone version from new to see if it works or not.

It is the mods. Running a few of them - so lengthy process of finding which one causes this...

DCS won't start after passing login it stops at start screen. Fresh install Release Version No mods vanilla install.

Yes that fixed it. Did not remove the software just closed it and unplugged the wheel. However not an option since I use logitech pedals in dcs.

Thanks for your feedabck. As I said, it's only a workaround. This bug is very new and I'm not sure ED testers were able to reproduce it yet (it takes a G29 or G923 wheel).

Yeah it was working perfectly before 2.7 update. Without the software running the pedals are not recognized in game. There was also an update prior to that on the GHUB.

I had the same issue when 2.7 was first released. I took out all mods, then added them back one at a time until I found the offending one.

In my case it was this one.  WW 1 DCS World Flying Circus (BETA) - DCS Mods - ED Forums (eagle.ru)

All of my other mods work just fine.  Too bad though, I kinda' liked this mod.  Oh well.

How do you disable the MODs? By deleting them?  Moving the folders out of the DCS directory?

 

I've updated, repaired and DCS crashes after approx. 1 second of showing the "Getting authorisation" window....    

 

No modified DCS log..... files last modified in 2019...

DCS won't start if your PC time and date are not synchronized.

Hi, yes, my first error message was Error 500, which directed me to sync my clock.  That fixed that error.  The crash during authorisation came next....

 

I removed my French Assets Pack and was able to log in.  Sorted now.

Today I was playing DCS-Steam without issue, this evening it wont start, nothing changed since I ran it earlier.  Here is the entire log file (very short) and screen capture of what I'm getting... anyone seen this and know how to correct it?

Hi Flappie, I realized that I had the C130 mod installed this morning, so I uninstalled that mod, and the game started just fine.  One thing I did notice is, Steam application updated first, so maybe they released an updated to fix that.  Very strange that it worked fine about an hour before last night... then it didn't.

 

I did uninstall the C130 Hercules mod before attempting to start this morning.  I've since gone back and reinstalled that mod, everything is back to normal.  OvGME is a blessing in this case
