So just waiting on my computer to arrive and I will have everything I need to get started. The setup process seems daunting and I am NOT a "techy" lol! So, in flying the Hornet how do you all suggest I map things to my stick and throttle? Using the TM Warthog for stick and throttle and TM rudder pedals. Thanks in advance!!!

1. Worthog will start with some default preconfiguration. Just check the axis category to avoid any double bindings.

2. You may set it however you like. You may also use some profiles from the user files:

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/type-is-profile/game-is-world_2.5/unit-is-fa-18c/sort-is-popular/apply/

The profile has to fit your needs depending on your hardware like VR, TiR or no headtracking.

3. Need help?

Once you get to the point you'd like to customize...

I tend to put target and weapons management functions on the throttle, and put the required systems management functions on the stick.  Basically...  If I'm in combat of any sort I want to be using the throttle controls to do what I need to do aside from flying the plane.  I map the things I'll need on the HOTAS while not in combat to the stick.  There is some cross over for sure...  but in general I bias my hotas setups in this way.

I use TARGET to program the Warthog.  I tried creating my own script but ran into issues and got lazy, got someone else's from the DCS file downloads and modded that.  Reason for using TARGET is you can use shifted layers and massively increase the functionality of your HOTAS.

The attached Excel file is the format I use to document my control bindings plus some other stuff that's useful for me during missions. I display it on my secondary monitor. The page View presents data from the other pages. Note: I use a TM WH grip in a VIRPIL joystick base. That's why the button numbers for the stick are different from the native TM WH definitions.

The notes "user mod" indicate that these are bindings I have created myself (additions to "default.lua"). Game controllers:
