Depth rendering for in-cockpit mirrors in VR

Recommended Posts

As per the title - mirrors in-cockpit when played in VR are flat with no depth perception - they look like an LCD screen showing a camera feed.

Check out IL-2 BoS to see how they work when depth perception is rendered - it's a huge difference and really adds to the immersion while in VR.

Indeed, the new water shades do bring some improvement (e.g. sense of scale is better now that at high altitude individual waves are not really discernible anymore), however the lack of whitecaps and over reflectiveness of the surface can definitely be improved. Previously, whitecaps were definitely far too large from a high altitude giving the water the appearance it is much closer to the aircraft than it really is.

The mirror are in fact no mirroring 😜

When you go near, your "reflect" go back and same in reverse.

And I don't know why but il VR the clouds are more beautiful in the mirror.

The reflections are not even correct in the first place.

Why the reflections are not clear?

What do you mean? Screenshot?

You can turn them on/off and control their quality with the "res. of cockpit displays" option.
