Wiggy Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 @NineLine A bit more evidence to prove our point… the image is taken from part of this article interviewing Richard Grace: https://vintageaviationecho.com/p-47-thunderbolt-nellie/ Recommended reading to all. Any news on this anyway Nineline?
Cool-Hand Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 (edited) I don't know if they modified something or not (nothing I saw was in the change logs) but wheel landings in the Jug have become pretty easy as of late on grass or pavement. It was definitely a rarity to make one before the last couple of patches, but I'd say it's pretty similar to the Mustang now. Here is pretty much the same technique from your article snippet. grafspee Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 (edited) Probably i found the reason, check this video. Wheels almost launching in to air after rolling over grass edge, no other warbird react like that. And my speed was very small, if you do it a bit faster P-47 jumps in to the air. Wiggy Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 (edited) Hehe nice one Yo-Yo. How many attempts was that? Would love to see you do that at Hawkinge. There’s still a clear issue in my mind - it still over-reacts. If I see someone doing an approach like Fred Christensen in the 56th video, and can two point it consistently at Hawkinge I’ll eat my words. Has Nick Grey had a go recently? Really keen to hear his thoughts too given his experience.. Edited July 6, 2021 by Wiggy
