AeoNGriM Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 In-flight sometimes when looking out of the window, parts of the terrain are just a featureless blur and seems to only gain definition when I approach it. Can anyone tell me how I can fx this? I have ModMan and was playing around with some of the graphics settings but haven't been able to sort it out :(
Kuky Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Open Graphics.cfg file (with Notepad or Wordpad or any other text editor) and looks for this section: LandLodDistances { LandDay { L01 = 30000; L12 = 40000; } LandNight { L01 = 30000; L12 = 40000; Your values will be different so you can experiement by increasing these values (ones above give very nice terrain texture detail at not so huge FPS hit... but it may do so on lower end systems (so experiment with different values) No longer active in DCS...
104th_Crunch Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Kuky, what you suggest as a starting point for a higher end system? Thanks
AeoNGriM Posted September 23, 2008 Author Posted September 23, 2008 Tyvm, Kuky! Perfect settings for my system, might even be able to go a little higher :) Cheers fella!
Mustang Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I use: LandLodDistances { LandDay { L01 = 30000; L12 = 50000; } LandNight { L01 = 30000; L12 = 50000; and my PC is 'old' compared to most other users on here, and it looks great.........SIM-MOD suggests L12 = 80000 for high spec PC's.
crazyeddie Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Working it upwards slowly, thanks Kuky.
Kuky Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Kuky, what you suggest as a starting point for a higher end system? Thanks I suggest anything between 20000/40000 to Mustang's 30000/50000. Anything higher and you really won't be able to tell the difference (visually) 1 No longer active in DCS...
