speed-of-heat Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Hi Guys, I am considering replacing my Joystick base for my TM Warthog, with either a warbird or at T-50CM2. But have a question, will I still be able to use TARGET to program the combination of my Joystick and my Warthog Throttle, before someone says oh use a Virpil Throttle, I can likely afford one thing at the moment, and the joystick needs it more than than the throttle.. crash test pilot Posted May 9, 2021 Posted May 9, 2021 Yes. You just need to look up the vid/pid of the tm base and put that into the virpil configurator software when you initialize the virpil base.
Lange_666 Posted May 10, 2021 Posted May 10, 2021 Maybe order a set of the extra heavy springs along with your base order (for the WarBRD at least). With the original soft springs installed and when a TM stick is mounted, it will lead forward a lot due to the heavyness of the stick. With the original hard springs installed and when a TM stick is mounted, it will lead forward around 2-3° (my setup). I think this is OK since pushing the stick forward to max is a lot less done the pulling the stick to max. To make it sit up straight without the forward lean, you'll need the extra heavy springs which are not included in the original package. imacken Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 All I can say is that I have the WarBRD base with the hard springs, and when I occasionally swap my VPC Alpha for my TM Hornet stick - which I'm sure is around the same weight as the Warthog - I don't get any leaning forward. Lange_666 Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 (edited) @imackenHard springs or extra hard ones? 2° isn't that noticable but i calibrated without stick and with the TM Warthog stick mounted, the Y-axis wasn't in center anymore. Could also be that the F/A-18 stick is a bit less top heavy, more of it's weight near the lower part of the stick compared to the A-10 stick. I did try it with my WH stick when I first got the base, and it was OK as well. Brun Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 I didn't know the T-50CM2 could fool Target into thinking it was a Warthog until after I bought it. Was a great relief to find out it did, been working flawlessly with the Hornet stick. Calibration will account for any centering issues. Mine leans back quite significantly by virtue of a curved extension and the base not even being horizontal, but is fine when calibrated.
