MS Flight SIM X GOLD (with acceleration pack)

I dont have a profile...never even saw the point in making one. If you familiarize yourself with the cockpit, everything you need for cat launches, carrier landings, opening and closing the canopy, etc...is right there at your fingertips. Even then, what do you really need? Theres only 6 or 7 things you probably need to use on the stick...

Ill post screens on where everything is located. The ONLY thing I havent figured out is what actually starts the engines, the power switches...something that doesnt get turned on when you press Ctrl-E.

Unless Im missing something, you cant really turn the engines over and start just by turning on the APU and flipping the engine crank switch. The autopilot controls and main radio are underneath the HUD. Using the MFD's, you can use certain menus...flip on the radar (cant bug targets), open the fuel screen, system monitoring screens (default), and magnetic compass (default).

That helis been pissing me off since I got the addon last year! Need to find a way to keep the heli from going side to side in a stable hover...

Is there a way to control the collective, pitch and throttle on separate axis'? I saw that video the other day...didnt help out a bit.

I`m using Dirk Fassbender`s Cougar Autopilot http://64.34.169.161/cgi-bin/ifolio/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Add-ons_-_Panels_and_Gauges_-_FSX&image=HC075DI_FSX_COUGAR_AUTOPILOT.zip&img=0&search=USER~Dirk&cat=all&tt=zip&bool=

http://www.dirkfassbender.de/AFCP/index.html

for the EH101. Start the Hovermode and than you can make little control inputs with the TRIM function for positioning the helo.

If you think it`s cheating don`t use it.:D

I see the button for the hover, but seems like I cant get the thing to press. Um...unless its not the correct button Im pressing, where is this button located? I want to say its on the right side of the center console...am I correct? The buttom Im referring to is above the heading select on the navigation console...

As for that tutorial with the R22, I need to tweak my rudder pedals somewhat, because this thing likes to twist around on me. Seems like I cant get it to fly straight and level without it wanting to swing from side to side.

The autopilots not been modeled for the EH101 in FSX. Level flight in the R22 can be done as I was flying level easily when I was using it. Rudder input has to be constantly changed when changing speed or height.

Yeah, but its impossible to keep the EH101 in a steady hover at 0 ground speed. Its also almost impossible to have a steady altitude as well. Ill have to post a video of what Im talking about. Keeping a steady hover off the pad at 0 GS 1' off the deck, the engine will add torque to the tail and swing it to the left. Dont know why it does it.

Im looking more for the actual switches to do the ramp start and not keyboard shortcuts. Other than that, I just use Ctrl E for my engine start. I know how to use the kneeboard, this is basically a copy of it.

Thanks hitman that was great to get that check list. I have been using the saitek sst but it seems easier to use the in game stuff. Clicking the cockpit is great. Just need more time in the plane to get used to it again. I flew the f18 in v1.02 and was great. had f/a 18 iraq freedom and there is some useful info in there for the autopilot modes, etc. cheers and thanks again for the rescue.

The switches are on the link there is a few other things that don't work that are on the list regarding your ramp start problem the thing you missed was the fuel valve CNTRL F4. Thats why your engines wouldn't start from what I understand its on the Hornets throttle position IRL pity we couldn't map this to a throttle indent.

It takes alot of practice to do it but it can be done, other ways around the problem is to slow the game speed. IMO most difficult places to hover are whilst landing on buildings or hovering next to a mountain using the hoist.(absolute nightmare):joystick:

And heres a Hornet video of me mucking around doing a circuit.

Yeah filmed whilst flying as the FS recorder won't record the carriers 3d model.(what were they thinking)

Need help. do not know to much about FSX and I have FSXdeluxe gold with acceleration pack. I don't understand how to get the skin in and be able to use it. The textures are no. 0 -13 and if you select a mission it already has a texture assigned to it. As I said this is all new to me. Lockon no problems but no one around to give me a hand with this. Would someone be so kind as to explain a little on what I must do to add a skin and have it useable for all missions or do I have to build missions using this skin. Also trying to fly helio's is just about impossible any ideas on that one also. I have X52 joystick but some one said better to stay with game presets. I think he is right on that one but how do you manipulate the copters? Thanks guys for any info that can help a newbie to this sim out. Cheers.

You need to allow aircraft change during missions in order to pick and choose your skin. Unfortunately, if you do that, you dont get a mission successful if you do complete the task.

Ive never reskinned anything, nor replaced any textures...but give this a shot: when you select an aircraft, click on the "show all variants", and your skin "may be" present. Dont quote me on that, though...

It says to put the skin in f18 folder and aircraft.cfg gives you all the info except name I think f-18-xx the xx is the no. associated with the mission when you click on missions choose military pick a mission and that mission has a preset texture. could by the Nasa skin what ever . what number do I put in for the .xx there are 0-13 textures for the f18 and all are different and assigned to a mission. can't figure this out. hope some one knows what I am talking about. I will try your suggestion though. Thanks.
