Nealius Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Except they desync. The Hind replays never work correctly, even in ideal conditions, as opposed to many other modules that replay flawlessly.

Mi-24 plays right for me up to a certain degree, then decide to randomly take a nosedive. Mi-8 tends to do the same, but after playing right for a longer time usually. S. Low Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 I'm just teasing a bit, but even if the tracks are desynced its better to have some kind of physical evidence. Every single thread the testers/mods are like "Track? track file? Track file missing."
Quadg Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 (edited) they don't care about desync from RNG. they care about the input log. these are complicated machines and user error is more likely than an actual error. years in IT and Dr House have taught me "the patient always lies" so put your money where your mouth is and post a track. or they can send their interns around to steal it. like Dr House would. user: my laptop has stopped working me: what happened? user: nothing. me removes laptop keyboard and its full of tomato soup. user: okay I may have spilt something on it.... lies can be by omission, by commission or simply a lack of knowledge. in DCS i expect the lie to be mostly through lack of knowledge. rather than malicious. so post a track. they rule out all three. I completely agree with them demanding tracks. I would in their boat. it also cuts down on all the fighting on the forum. if its an actual bug. the track goes a long way to making it repeatable. which gets you half way to fixing it. And if the input causes a different result than that same input caused in the live flight, then the track is still useless, as the testers do not see the same end-result of that input that the user did. Quadg Posted June 20, 2021 Posted June 20, 2021 @Nealius the tracks can probably be opened in a text/log editor. replaying it in the sim is probably not the only way to get useful information from a track file. its probably the least useful way. I don't work for ED and this is an assumption. but the tracks do help sort the wheat from the chaff. 2 My Rig: AM5 7950X, 32GB DDR5 6000, M2 SSD, EVGA 1080 Superclocked, Warthog Throttle and Stick, MFG Crosswinds, Oculus Rift.
Dawgboy Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 (edited) I can tell you the TRK files are NOT_NOT gospel. My Tacview ACMI file will show me reality as my wingies and I flew it, and the TRK will show me some alternate universe. Usually this is in a weapons delivery event, usually A2A, where my missile gets a kill, visible in the ACMI file, but in the TRK file, my missile went ballistic from the rail. TRK system needs a good fixing to make it perfect. If Tacview can do it, ED should be able to do it. I'll file a bug report someplace, once I determine if one already exists so I can pile on... 2cents.
