FoxTwo Posted June 23, 2021 Posted June 23, 2021 I'm noting (particularly now that I'm flying more helicopters on Syria) that at low altitudes the texture LODs for buildings are only rendering at full resolution when you're very close to them. At distances that I would consider typical for normal LODs I'm getting what look like long range texture LODs (fuzzy and low detail) until I'm basically right on top of it. It's super noticeable at low speed low altitude flight. This happens to almost any building but is easily observable on the larger ones like hospitals and skyscrapers. 5 2

There's no smooth transition between mud and clear here, it's almost like it's just off then on. And mud sticks around FAR into the clearly visible range. Either the high resolution LOD distance needs to be increased or more transitional LODs need to be placed between the distance texture and the close range texture. Mud: Not mud: 3

Hiob Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 I pointed this out several times. Nothing happened yet. No reaction, acknowledgement or answer at all whatsoever... I really hope they are "silently" working on this, because it is the single most annoying thing for me atm. rhinofilms Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 I just noticed this myself and have been looking for other posts with solutions. Were you able to fix it and does it happen on other maps? I also noticed that civilian traffic vehicles are very plain and blocky.

I think the solution rests with the Devs. Its simply not the helo map it should be. But its not all Ugra. DCS isnt exactly helo friendly either. But I think it was on purpose(probably for performance), so I don’t believe there will be improvement until a major performance leap will create enough headroom.
