Ground units too accurate VS aerial targets

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This problem has been around since... well forever. It destroys much of the single player fun, as it's unrealistic and punishing. Used to be I fixed it by editing a .lua file to make things like the BMP-2 and -3, the marders, etc. far less accurate versus air targets. It does not make any sense that a BMP is a better air defence unit than a ZSU. It is unrealistic and annoying that a BMP would swat a helicopter using a wire guided missile from 5km's out. Defensive fire from nonspecialised ground units should be mostly spray&pray and only become remotely dangerous within 500 to a 100 meters.

@NineLinePlease report this to the team, it's a fairly simple edit that IIRC does not break anything. @everyone please second this post or explain to me why it is realistic that Vasili Zaitsev in his T-55 is a better air defence unit than a ZSU-23-4.

Here is a link to the edits I made back when to make them less annoying and make more sense. https://forums.mudspike.com/t/hack-your-dcs-or-how-i-stopped-worrying-and-love-the-bmp/6005
