Have to say that I prefer the MAV L to the F.

Launching from 10 miles out at least.

They kind of loft, it's pretty cool.

No problems tracking or picking up my laser.

From the post on New Mavericks

AGM-65F and AGM-65E Properties Limitations:

  1. Mavericks cannot be used at the same time with the TPOD.
  2. If the TPOD is active, Maverick video will replace TPOD video when the missile is active.
  3. If the TPOD is selected after selecting a Maverick, the missile will be deselected.

Use the AGM65E2/L with TPOD.

Cheers

i saw a video on youtube and the guy clearly select first the E2 THEN TPOD. The laser page remains active on MPCD ( Left one) with the code (1688) , ready to fire with active TPOD on the other MPCD ( the right one)..

The key point is Sensor Select forward long will replace TPOD screen with LMAV seeker screen. UNCAGE and FIRE (Lock target and lase first)

Typical employment sequence AGM-65E2/L Using aircrafts own TPOD to lase target.

AG Master mode on
LMV2 select STOR or EHSD page (Alignment 90s)
Check Weapon Laser Code matches the TPOD Laser Code (Change via UFC if required).
Use TPOD to designate the target Aera, PT or MT
Fly missile boresight towards the target and uncage the seeker.
Select TPOD laser to  armed from safe ensue laser LASR selected and FIRE laser.
Observe Laser search in HUD when Locked and IN RNG displayed in the HUD
SSS Forward Long will remove the TPOD display and display the LMV2 page briefly to confirm lock and gimbal limit launch parameters.
Launch Missile and maintain aircraft position to keep TPOD LOS for lasing.
When TPOD display returns laser position can be refined if required with the TDC.
Use of the AGM-65E2/L with an external designator or buddy lase is the same as the AGM-65E apart from the 90 second alignment time the weapon requires.

Thx Fetus but my problem occurs after your point #4: when i switch TPOD On, the previous laser page ( your point #3) disappears instantly, store page instead is dispayed, E2 no longer selected...I can not longer uncage the missile or see the laser's reticule.

Check please this video from a French guy i like: check @ 4'...Left MPCD with Laser code and right MPCD with TPOD. I can not do the same at home

Even though posted yesterday, that video is already outdated. It doesn't work like shown there any longer. I had the same problem and posted a bug report for it. Now it seems you have to long press SSS forward long for the seeker screen to show again. Extremely confusing and not well documented at all. I think it will be best of Razbam or one of the groups does a youtube video on the new procedure.

Yes. All is working as designed now. Teacypher's video is perfect!

It is unfortunately not documented in the manual which has yet to catch up, but was posted on the forum and has a complete explanation.
