  1. 5800x3d I think it is the better choice for MT, hands down I'm using the 5800x3d with a 4090. The G2 has been a workhorse for me in VR for the past couple years. You will definitely notice a lot more smoother VR experience with the X3D. If not already, try running in Open XR, as well. If you're running motion reprojection ON and getting 30-45 FPS, I assume with it OFF you're getting high 70s? I had a better experience running Open XR Toolkit and in Turbo Mode then capping the FPS. I was looking to upgrade at one point to Ryzen 7800x3d but the difference in high res gaming is not much different in FPS than 5800x3d. 1080p is a different story if that's your thing.
  2. 5900x, 5800x, and 5800x3d user here. I haven't had much success using Ryzen Master. I would recommend undervolting via your BIOS. I also got a lot better performance by going to the 5800x3d and running DCS in MT.
  3. I use the VKB Gunfighter with an extension and with the WH and F18 stick. I love the setup. Even more so than my Virpil setup.
  4. Try turning off Reprojection and Force DX11. I re-installed my 3090 and don't have all my settings handy at moment.
  5. Many nights playing that back in the day. The Golden Age of Sims....
  6. I have one. You're going to want a fast GPU to be able to run it. It's can be a pain setting up the lighthouses and getting the software setup right. You can get by without it but don't get full DOF. One lighthouse is recommended, two is preferred. It doesn't come with controllers either but you don't need them for DCS. The field of view is awesome and you get more of a sense of speed using it, as you can see more out of your peripheral. You get way less of the SCUBA mask effect. With that said, I use the Reverb G2 as a daily driver.
  7. What do you have your TDC slew control mapped to? and can you slew your DMT?
  8. In MP, the server would have to allow export of all flight data. Not sure what's going on in your SP.
  9. Did you take TPOD out of SLAVE mode? And put TPOD in HOTAS mode (SSS Down)? Should show "TPOD".
  10. I get the same thing sometimes. Went to 64GB. Check your page file size and pre-load radius size.
  11. Can confirm. This is from a MP client side server. The aircraft in foreground is Player controlled. The A/C on elevator is static. Appears the landing gear are sinking through deck. Maybe a collision issue?
  12. I have a Leap Motion unit and it only works in certain aircraft, not all. I tried using it in the Harrier and all I could do was close the canopy, which was cool to do. Hopefully, it develops further. With Point Ctrl, you basically point and you can toggle switches up and down quickly. Once you get it set up right, it's quick. I put the Aux Buttons on my G2 and one side, I have mapped Zoom and the flashlight. The other side, NVGs and gain up and down.
  13. I've used the VR controllers, I've used the mouse cursor and bound it to a joystick button. Then I went to the Tek Creations UFC, Point Ctrl and Cougar MFDs. I use different shapes and textures of adhesive velcro hook and loop. Almost like braille. I put pieces on certain areas as a reference where the middle buttons are on the UFC and MFDs, then I can work by feel off where the buttons are. I then don't have to take my hand off the stick when working an MFD or UFC. The idea is similar to finding the home keys on a keyboard by the ridges. I Point Ctrl allows me to hit switches and flip them in different directions.
  14. I fly with a small group on a private server. No squadron requirements. Just a couple of Harriers and a few Hornets. What time zone you in?
  15. I'm running a 5800X and 5900X in VR with both a 3090 and 6900XT. I'm currently using the 5800X and 6900XT and very pleased in VR. For VR, I would get as much GPU as you can get. In terms of performance CPU wise, the 5900X leads by only a small margin. I almost want to get the 5600X and try that out. If you have a need for productivity or video editing, get the 5900X. If not, I think you're fine with the 5600X and 5800X.
  16. I'm using this VR Mod : https://github.com/fholger/openvr_fsr I would try running it at 100% Steam and 100% DCS. Once you get a more acceptable FPS, start upping your settings. I also had some success undervolting and slight overclock on my 6900XT. I had some micro stutters before but have smoothed out my VR experience.
  17. I went from a 2080 Super to 3090 and 6900XT. I also upgraded my CPU from a 9900k to a 5800x and 5900X. I am currently running the 5800X and 6900XT and getting frames in 70s-80s on SP. Multiplayer its in 45-50s. Settings in high, MSAA OFF, motion smoothing off. Steam VR 100%/Game 100% Did you force DX11 in your Windows MR settings?
  18. I've been flying it for the past several weeks and trying to master it. It's not an easy plane to fly and the work flow to drop bombs or fire mavericks can be challenging but rewarding. I've been playing on some MP servers that have an LHA and it's always cool taking off and coming back to an almost empty boat. I do need to do a bit more night flying.
  19. Very cool, I lived near Plant 42 and Edwards AFB for a bit. Always cool seeing the U2 do its climb on takeoff.
  20. I have the 6900XT and can try to get you up to speed. I'm using it with a 5800X and 5900X with G2 as well.
  21. Just remember you need to be pushing 45FPS to use the smart smoothing in 90mhz mode.
  22. Awesome setup @ToastedVengeance. I have a similar setup with the 5900x and 3090 and Pimax 8kx but currently testing the 6900XT and 5800X with the G2. Going over some notes from Kevin at Pimax HQ. Try setting your ingame PD to 1.0, then setting render quality in PiTool to 1, 1.25, or 1.5. "CLOSE" is chinese for OFF in FFR, conservative gives the biggest circle view, aggressive costs more frames. DCS doesn't need Parallel Projections but MSFS 2020 does. Go into PiMax Experience and set your IPD to your dominant eye with the mechanical adjustment, then fine tune with the software. I use the small text in Pimax Experience as a reference. Have you tried running 90mhz?
