I crashed in the replay, but no I didn't

I was planing on making a video splicing VR footage and replay footage, I did the mission, and they watched the replay, where I crashed after the first attack. Except I didn't. I did a few bombing runs, and then I went home and landed hard with my P4.

This is a general and until now unsolved issue with the replays.

Replays don't work like a "video recorder" capturing every frame and then showing it as a "movie".

Instead different parameters, your inputs in the first place, are logged and saved.

In a replay the game actually does a "fresh" simulation using said log as "Inputs".

Problem is that those logs are imperfect (due to framerate, resolution of logging etc as I understand), which leads to the replay deviating over time,

since the errors/deviations adds up over time.

 

Depending on different modules/maps/settings/framerates/length of mission etc. the error can be smaller or bigger.

I just stopped recording replays as it is pointless to me because of this bug.

Seems to me that the replays mess up after about 10 minutes of mission time.

Only solution is to capture a video live, so in the real time. Replays really suck. I don`t get it, how this still can be an issue, after so many years. And no rewinding?

This problem exists really long time, and I don't record replays either, and delete them regularly (plus, I used to use a cheat to stop recording multiplayer replays etc.) - I don't know why ED still keeps this feature or why they don't fix it...

 

But there was a thing that I know that, after replay starts, "if" I don't touch anything, but aannyytthhiinngg, replay goes OK without any problem, but if I touch anything like F1, F2, F10 or time speed, something goes wrong with replaying the track.

 

Anyway. I have no idea if this still works...
