RogerRamjet Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Not sure if bug or something I'm doing wrong, but... Mariana Islands F-18 free flight. After flying around the island for a while, I do a case 1 on the carrier. I use the ball call and hear the Hornet call in the audio. However, after the landing and I exit, the grade is "no proper communications." With my F-14 landings, I only get this grade when I forget to call the ball. Anyone else run into this?
Hulkbust44 Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Did you initially talk to Marshall for the approach?Mobius708
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 2, 2021 ED Team Posted August 2, 2021 you need to ensure you are flying the correct pattern approach, and following the radio procedure correctly a guide to this can be found in DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\tech\Supercarrier\Doc Forum rules - DCS Crashing? fagulha Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Please note that ball calls need be to made within 0.7nm or else you may get BC/no proper comms. I start from there, if you get the same grade please check your CASE I approach to find the culprit. You´re missing something. Can you describe your CASE I, if possible please, to check if i or any other virtual aviator here can help you further? i can guide you to good CASE I videos if you wish. Hi, thanks for following up. I believe your first thought was correct, I was not within .7nm of the carrier. I just did the same exercise and made sure I was within range before calling the ball and got a normal grade. Thanks! 1

Tippis Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 The trick to getting a good grade when you land your carrier is to remember to lower the its landing gear. https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/326283744979845122/872170473474101328/video0.mp4 ❧ ❧ Inside you are two wolves.
