ADF not working on some airports in Caucasus

I have tried Mi-24P on most maps so far, and currently, I get mixed results with getting the ARK-U2 ADF to track any of the outer and inner beacons on the map. I double checked that they are in the kHz-range, and that I had the right of the two selected. Doing a cold startup, it works on Syria and Persian Gulf, but in Caucasus, not all airports yield good results.

I tried the following aerodromes: Kobuleti (didn´t work), Batumi (didn´t work), Sukhumi-Babushara (worked).

I believe I did a couple more, but cannot remember if they worked or not.

I could provide a TRK., but not sure if there is any point? It´s bascially spawn in air and try the frequencies.

They need a trk file, so they don't have to waste time creating missions to try to reproduce the bug based on your description. They are busy people. Also in the trk file you can see exactly everything that the pilot does, so you can eliminate pilot error. In you case - i just tried Kobuleti and Batumi NDBs and they work for me. So please share your trk file, it'll help

I am aware of that. However track-files aren´t always needed, esp. for the simplest of issues. This is not a case of either misconduct nor an advanced bug to recreate. It´s not a matter of creating a 1h mission, rather, spawn aircraft on an empty caucasus map and set the frequency. It´s faster than me running a mission and then uploading it here, for ED then to download it and test.

Since it works for you, I might however have to do that, cause it seems like it´s not a bug affecting everyone.

I'm not 100% sure what you are doing as, AFAIK (from RedKite's videos) the ARC-U2 (R828) ADF uses preset channels in the 20-59.9 MHz range and drives the thick No. 2 ADF => needle.

While the ARC-15 on the left hand wall has adjustable dials in the kHz range and drives the thin No. 1 ADF --> needle and is used to track NDB's and inner/outer markers.

Assuming you are using the ARC-15 to tune to the aerodrome markers, I can't reproduce your issue. So yes, there is a reason why ED ask for a short track when it's possible.

Tested in Open Beta 2.7.4.9847, hot ramp start, zero wind.

  • ED Team

We would like to see track replays, as mentioned they are wind related for activation

thanks
