JCook Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 When setting up my controls i saved the key binding settings by aircraft type f16, a10, f18. In all cases i can save the plane specific profile, but the load profile option seems to do nothing. It doesnt prompt me for the profile to load. And if it doesnt show which profile is loaded by name, i have go look at the bindings to determine. What am i doing wrong?
Sinclair_76 Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 IIRC. When you save the profile it saves all the profiles of all the devices (columns). But when loading you have to select a device (column) for it to load in.

Seems weird to me, as "save/load" options work ok always since I undestood that I had to save a specific profile for a specific controller; Let's say you have a joystick, a throttle and pedals, all of them separated from each other (not like X52 or similar), so you have a column for each and every one of them. For each module, you have so save separately every one pf th controllers you have: for example, "F16Throttle.diff.lua", "F16Joy.diff.lua" and"F16Peds.diff.lua", the same for the F/A-18 (F/A-18Throttle, joy and Peds) ans so on. for loading the profile, just click on the little down arrow right of the controller name, select"load" and search your PC for the correct location/profile. If not prompted to any windows for loading a profile, either you saved them incorrectly (something similar happens with sound files in M.E.) or your copy is broken; try a repair or simply make a backup of your profiles, delette the "controls"tab in C:\Users\XXXXXXXX\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Controls and restart the game. All controls should switch back to default and maybe you then can load a new profile. I hope I made it clear... Saludos. Saca111

So to save two airplanes, say A-10 and F/A-18, and you have four controllers (keyboard, stick, throttle, rudder) you would need 8 files to save all that information. Pressing the "Load profile" button should absolutely bring up a dialog to pick which file. However if you don't highlight an action box the Load profile button will be grayed out as disabled. In order to load a profile you first have to select any action box in that column to which you want to load. No, it doesn't show which file is loaded. 1
