Screamadelica Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 This a really weird one! Everything runs fine to start, fly for a few minutes and then the screen freezes followed by the game crashing. I've just recently upgraded to a reasonably powerful computer, GTX 3080 card, 32 gig ram, everything well above recommended requirements for high end performance. Crash logs attached below. What makes it weird is that I have exactly the same issue with my other flight sim. I'm running the latest drivers and win 10 is updated, I've done a repair, all the usual suspects, etc. Free virtual beers for anyone who can help. Cheers, Scream. dcs.20211012-031712.crash dcs.20211012-031712.dmp dcs.20211014-054426.crash dcs.20211014-054426.dmp

Screamadelica Posted October 14, 2021 Author Posted October 14, 2021 As far as I know the graphics card is not overclocked,I've done a fresh driver install but still the same issue. Must be graphics card related as it affects my other WW2 flight sim in the same way. DCS log attached. Thanks Big Newy. dcs.log-20211014-043250.zip
Flappie Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 It might also be a RAM issue. You should test it with MemTest or the Windows memory diagnostic tool. ---
Screamadelica Posted October 16, 2021 Author Posted October 16, 2021 No joy. RAM is fine, did an uninstall via control panel and a clean install of drivers, disconnected all controllers and keyboard, etc. Still crashes everytime after a few minutes. Back to the shop with it. Curses! Thanks for all suggestions, I'll let you know the result. Cheers, Scream.
Screamadelica Posted October 20, 2021 Author Posted October 20, 2021 And problem solved. Appears that the standard setup in the BIOS for the xmp profile is switched on automatically by the computer. Needed a manual set up in the BIOS to get the RAM speed all settled. Hopefully all is good to go. Thanks for everyone's help, cheers, Scream. 1 1
