silverdevil Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 i have a fun mission i use for A-10. it is a modified P51 mission. it was totally unfair with modern equipment enemies. i have used other planes too. i have played this literally 100 times at least. at some point between july and october i noticed that the take off was the opposite direction than i had been used to. the mission is hot on runway. all i have for evidence of a change are two tacview recordings. how does DCS decide which way the takeoff is for hot start? http://www.pcwiseman.com/downloads_files/Tacview-DCS-SD_Alamo-A-10C-2.zip AKA_SilverDevil Join AKA Wardogs Email Address My YouTube “The MIGS came up, the MIGS were aggressive, we tangled, they lost.” - Robin Olds - An American fighter pilot. Active runway is decided upon the airfield (some are one direction only, some are special, like Nellis) and wind direction & speed. Solution Darcaem Posted October 17, 2021 Solution Posted October 17, 2021 Yes, based only on my own experience, I would say it was most likely changes in the new weather model that affected wind Enviado desde mi POCOPHONE F1 mediante Tapatalk 1

draconus Posted October 17, 2021 Posted October 17, 2021 (edited) From changelog https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/openbeta/2.7.6.12852/ Quote AI airports. The ATC will not switch to another runway independent from the landing aids when changing the wind direction As I understand it now ATC takes also into consideration what landing aids (like ILS or path markers) are available to the airport approaches. There is no new weather model - just clouds. Edited October 17, 2021 by draconus 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
Ignition Posted October 18, 2021 Posted October 18, 2021 Sometime ED added in the briefing "from" where the wind is blowing instead of "to" direction, it may be realted to that since its the opposite direction.

It was just a change in presenting wind info in the briefing. 1 Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
