THERION Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 Hello everyone, I have some questions regarding the Fullscreen mode in DCS: In DCS I have Fullscreen activated in the options of the game. Now, I very often read about using LALT + Enter to activate or make sure, Fullscreen mode is active. 1. Is this keyboard combination a toggle function (on/off)? 2. Why do I need to use this keyboard combination although I've already activated Fullscreen mode in the game's options? 3. How can I configure DCS the way it is always running in Fullscreen mode and how can I actually see, if my game is running in Fullscreen mode (during a flight f.ex.)? Some advise would be very appreciated. Thank you. Cheers
scampaboy Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 If you alt-tab to change window, if it takes more than half a second to change then you were in full screen mode, if it doesn’t you weren’t in full screen mode. Press left alt enter to then put you in full screen mode.

Because in-game option usually doesn't work (only switches to borderless windowed) and, depending on individual hardware, because of performance reasons - see below; 3. You can't - the option is broken (used to work between 2.2 and 2.5.6, got messed up again in 2.7). Guys above have given some pointers, but for me the most obvious one is framerate. Being TrackIR and 60Hz monitor user, I have to rely on NVidia V-Sync ON and Alt-Entered full screen (rather than in-game one) to have properly working V-Sync (locked 60, but NOT dropping immediately to 30 if the GPU can't handle 60 - staying at 50-few instead). When the mission begins, If I see fps going above 60, or screen tearing I know I'm not in proper full screen. Well, that happens every single time the first mission is loaded during gaming session, so I'm just used to hitting Alt Enter just like I hit "fly" as a normal routine. The good thing is, you don't have to do it again during next mission, the game remains in full screen proper. 1 i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
