VS-28 S-3 Vikings aboard the Forrestal circa mid-late 80's

I'm looking for a VS-28 S-3 Viking skin for the Forrestal,like the one pictured below with grey top and black cockpit surround,this was circa 86-88,would really love this skin if anyone can create one,thanks.

Nice skin, but do you think it's worth the effort to create one for that abomination we right now have in DCS, and which is called S-3?

I think nothing will help it, even the most beautifuly made skin, and we just need a long overdue new model, visually on par with E-2.

Wasn't there a time, way back when ED was teasing us with WIP shots of the Super Carrier, that Wags was talking about their plans for better air to air refueling physics, i.e. the basket having some type of collision properties and not being able to enter the cockpit, and their bringing out a new and improved model of the Viking? I wonder whatever happened to that project?

I wouldn't call pointing out, that the model we have is objectively awful, bashing.

But you're right, nobody knows how long we are going to wait for a better one.

Judging by the rest of the AI assets ED has released we won't even get a paintkit. The last few sets of AI overhauled models like the SU-34 have had no paint kits and crickets every year or so that I ask.

And yes, paint kits are important. But the reality here is that ED just has their artists paint it in Substance Painter and call it good with a few default paint jobs. I'd like to be proven wrong but I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks Nealius,if you can that would be great,this fits in perfectly time wise with Reflected's F-14 VF-31 skin for the Forrestal,the skinpack had VS-28 S-3 Viking skin but not with the black cabin surround,it was grey/white.

Not a perfect match with marking placement errors, and unfortunately only the tactical scheme has dynamic modexes, but the colors are close enough I've been using them on my CV59 templates.

Indeed, I seem to remember Wags announcing that during the F-18 introductory YT series, something along the lines of: "I'm going to hold off on doing an IFR video since we have a new S-3 model in the works". That was 3.5 years ago.

At this point it seems prudent to simply ignore whatever ED announces it has in the works or is supposed to come.
