Toni Carrera Posted November 8, 2021 Posted November 8, 2021 Hi All, With the arrival of the AH-64D around the corner, I just wanted to get a jump on the button designs for this beautiful baby I know I can't actually program the buttons themselves with the StreamDeck XL with the great Charles Tytler SD Interface, but I can start to play with some of the replicating of the various mechanical switches and buttons. Does anyone know of a detail image, or set of images that will allow me to start this creation, graphically at least Just hoping someone out there might know of the best layout of physical buttons and switches, that I can get a high level of detail on Thank you in advance Toni Toni Carrera (Ice Rhino) ThrustMaster HOTAS Warthog Throttle & A10C Stick, ThrustMaster F/A-18C Stick, ThrustMaster TFRP Pedals, ThrustMaster Cougars x 2, fitted to CubeSim USB Screens, TrackIR 4 Active LED & Cap Reflector, Stream Deck XL Intel® Core™ i7-5820K 12 Core Processor, 32GB RAM, 1 x 500GB SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD, 1 x 1TB SSD 4 x 4TB Western Digital Mechanical. 2 x ASUS GTX 1080's SLI, ASUS 29" Ultrawide flanked by 2 x 22" IPS Monitors
abs0lutzer0 Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 Hey @Toni Carrera What do you think of this ? https://gameglass.gg/ I think this can be done in so many different ways maybe this can achieve what you want?
Toni Carrera Posted November 9, 2021 Author Posted November 9, 2021 Hi I am happy with my StreamDeck. All I am looking for is a good quality set of images, hopefully with descriptions, so that I can start to create the button images for the StreamDeck Thanks Toni Carrera (Ice Rhino) ThrustMaster HOTAS Warthog Throttle & A10C Stick, ThrustMaster F/A-18C Stick, ThrustMaster TFRP Pedals, ThrustMaster Cougars x 2, fitted to CubeSim USB Screens, TrackIR 4 Active LED & Cap Reflector, Stream Deck XL Intel® Core™ i7-5820K 12 Core Processor, 32GB RAM, 1 x 500GB SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD, 1 x 1TB SSD 4 x 4TB Western Digital Mechanical. 2 x ASUS GTX 1080's SLI, ASUS 29" Ultrawide flanked by 2 x 22" IPS Monitors
Remco Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I'd be happy to help but I'm not entirely sure what you're asking, you're going to have to be more specific, which buttons are you trying to map? Also I have a sneaking suspicion this thread ought to be moved to the controllers and profiles subsection.
Bailey Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) I have started making the keypad buttons, some buttons that would better be served on the SD rather than the HOTAS (like the HUD modes and almost everything on the lower left collective), and others around the cockpit. I have also started to design what will be some Tiles for the live data that will stream to the SD via the ah-64d.lua file via DCS-ExportScripts. I find that using some time to lay things out before the module is released gives me a better understanding of how I want things, how things should be, and more time enjoying the module! For the front seat, I have considered just making the SD the controller itself jkjk I have been using the Wags videos and the ED preview pics to get a sense of the switches and buttons in the cockpit. You can check out a great HOTAS pic here: This is a nice cockpit overview video: Edited November 9, 2021 by Bailey DCS VoiceAttack Profiles | My Mods and Utilities on ED User Files | DiCE: DCS Integrated Countermeasure Editor DCS Update Witching Utility | DCS-ExportScripts for Stream Deck Community Github Library | Kiowa Integrated Overlays

Hi Remco, All I was asking for was a literal image of the buttons and switches that are around the Pilot's and CPG's cockpits. I am not looking to map anything yet, I just want to start creating the displayed images of individual switches etc. If you take the F/A-18C as an example, you have the parking brake, the Jettison Buttons, Master Caution, Station Selector switches, LO,LI,CTR,RI & RO, all of which have their own non standard look to them I am literally only looking to create the graphical element of how the switch 'looks' not functions Does that make more sense? This is why I did not put this thread in the other subsection, because it is not about Input / Output, it is more like getting high quality images of the cockpit layout etc @Bailey Thank you, I will go and take a look at those you have provided Toni Carrera (Ice Rhino) ThrustMaster HOTAS Warthog Throttle & A10C Stick, ThrustMaster F/A-18C Stick, ThrustMaster TFRP Pedals, ThrustMaster Cougars x 2, fitted to CubeSim USB Screens, TrackIR 4 Active LED & Cap Reflector, Stream Deck XL Intel® Core™ i7-5820K 12 Core Processor, 32GB RAM, 1 x 500GB SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD, 1 x 1TB SSD 4 x 4TB Western Digital Mechanical. 2 x ASUS GTX 1080's SLI, ASUS 29" Ultrawide flanked by 2 x 22" IPS Monitors
