Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams 2008

The VFAT Staff would like to invite the DCS community to the Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams 2008.

 

 

The Virtual Festival of Aerobatic Teams or VFAT is a big international airshow like RIAT or MAKS, flown using the LockOn flight simulator.

 

The pilots mostly simulate the displays of real aerobatic teams like the Patrouille Suisse, Thunderbirds, Blue Angels, Russian Knights and Blue Impulse, however, many teams also create their own spectacular displays instead of simulating real life counterparts. VFAT is currently the only virtual airshow where such a large group of performers gather to create an event of this size and since 2007, spectators can watch the event live using internet streaming technology.

 

Our sponsor « Interoute » allows us to provide this internet streaming technology necessary to show VFAT demonstrations LIVE on the internet. VFAT takes place once a year and offers the opportunity for virtual aerobatic teams and solo pilots to present their hard work for the enjoyment to the general public!

Was watching one of previous shows long time a go now, amazed by the precision many pilots where flying whit,

one thing did disappoint me thou crashes was not allowed in game options, so I saw two a pilots touching each other(Don't misunderstand touching each other) :)

You will also be able to watch the live stream on the rehearsal days, so if you are unable to watch during the VFAT weekend, try to make it on the rehearsal ;)

About crashes being off, the only real reson for this is lag. We don't want a formation to crash on VFAT because of a few lag issues.

About spectators.

 

Is it possible to watch this event only by live-stream? Will you allow spectators to be on the server in time of show? I remember at last year a lot of spectators were kicked from server. May be, something was changed from that time?

 

If I’ll watch a show by live stream, will I hear commentators? Or I have to be in TS for this?

I think you can watching only on stream, because isn't mod at this year. It's a good verdict from the organizers, because the spectators will not taking the bandwith from pilots.
